NH secession-referendum hearing Jan 12! Sign wave 8:30a.m.!

A demonstration will kick off NHexit’s latest move in our quest for independence from the U.S!

State Rep. Jason Gerhard has submitted legislation to the House which would let the public vote in what amounts to a referendum on NH independence. His legislation comes up for its first hearing and public comment Jan. 12. According to SurveyUSA, 42% of New Hampshirites already want such a referendum.*

What: Sign wave supporting right to vote on independence, public hearing on NH independence referendum.
Who: NHexit and friends…but detractors are welcome!
Where: Legislative Office Building, 33 N. State St., Concord, NH
When: 8:30am Fri. Jan 12 (sign wave outside) followed an hour later by the hearing inside. This hearing and a related secession hearing are likely to take up the whole day. Second sign wave planned around 12pm same spot.
Why: You tell us. Or better yet…come tell the reps how D.C. has harmed you and how you’d benefit from an end to its rule over NH. Public comment usually starts near the beginning.

CACR20 Jan 12th

A guy calling himself “doctordoom” has posted a voice message, which he says he received from U.S. Capitol Police on the evening of January 5, 2024. His message and a copy of the voice mail appeared on the main NHexit Telegram channel Jan 5. But I’m not certain where it was originally posted.

Doom had previously been talking about attending the hearing so I assume he’s someone in New Hampshire. I listened to the message, in which the man identified himself as a Capitol Police guy, says no one is in trouble and says he wants to talk to the recipient (presumably doctordoom) about some things.

Update 1/6: In response to a request from me, Doom provided more info about himself, to be shared with the public. He writes: “Sure; name is Ahmad Esfahani ne William Jordan Cannon. Live in Alstead. I’m on the fall mountain budget committee and you can read more on the image below from the SAU60 website. I don’t have any more info about the call apart from what I already shared. First time any agent has called me, but I mean it could have been a wrong number.”

*As referenced above, here is the SurveyUSA poll showing 42 percent support for an NH independence referendum: SurveyUSA Mkt Research Study #26405

The data is somewhat buried there, under this question:
"Would you support or oppose the idea of New Hampshire holding a vote to find out whether voters want New Hampshire to peacefully separate from the US? "
…to which 16% of New Hampshirites surveyed responded “strongly support”
And 26% surveyed responded “somewhat support,”
totaling 42% support.

Note that Scottish voter support for independence was only 23% in 2012. Two years later they had a secession referendum and came within 2% of leaving Britain.

What is the parking situation?
Where, how much cost?
How far from the statehouse? It is still tiring for me to
walk long distances, especially in bad weather, although
I do spend 8 hr a day on my feet at work.

I don’t know if I’m going to make it, but I’m going to try.
I don’t have to be at work until 2:00, here in Manchester.
I’ve never testified before, in any state, but considering
my attitude here that we’re not prepared for secession
at this time, I feel that I should now directly support
any legislative action that aims to make us more
prepared for what I consider an inevitability.

I think Around noon the committee will probably break for lunch. How about we hold a second sign wave around then in front of the same spot the Legislative Office Building?

street parking nearby usually … parking garage one block south of State House says $1.50 for 3 hours

You can also testify that we are not ready for cacr20 … but HB1130 is about a study committee … to get ready?

russellkanning, I’ve been thinking about the combination of cacr20,
and HB1130. I am thinking that cacr20 is okay as a trigger. This
might serve as a talking point about HB1130, in that if cacr20 should
pass, it would behoove us to be ready for it. Just simply setting a
financial trigger would turn out like the Croydon school fiasco,
there would be an immediate backlash, and NH secession would
result in a counter-movement and cause all sorts of problems.

I’m currently planning on attending… I don’t work Thursday, so I’ll
try to sleep early on Thursday to be able to get up a bit earlier
on Friday.

Guess I’m going to have to learn how things work.
I logged into the nhexit meeting, but I cannot hear
anything. Microphone on, but no sound coming
back to me.

Moving forward with the second sign wave outside the Legislative Office Building around 12pm (Jan 12) … please attend if you can.

Another mistake last time was people setting up cameras 10 feet away from someone who was giving a speech , the audio wound up so hollow no one would likely bother listening. You’re better of just setting the camera one foot a way from them , or from the main source of audio, giving up on the video and at least getting the audio. Obviously this can be done with a digital audio recorder.

Have video… microphone seems to have a loudness
setting, but I was unable to move it off the first bar.

If I’m thinking correctly, CACR20 could not be on the ballot
until November, at least, even if passed by both the House
and Senate by the appropriate majority.
The final report of the committee created by HB1130 will
be in January.
So these two might be finalized about the same time.

The national debt is currently predicted to hit $40 trillion
in 2027…giving us two years to implement major changes
to the way we govern ourselves, and implementation of
new technologies and technology systems in NH.

During those two years, it is likely that other states will
follow Texas, assuming they manage to proceed to the
secession. So two years from now we will probably
begin interacting with other states in ways that we do
not now interact with them.
