New to this forum, and hopefully to keene soon

Hi I'm Robin. I am new to the forum here, have posted some on FSP forum but decided if I move up there I really would like to move to Keene. Right now I am living in Germany and I want to get back to the US as soon as possible! We (me, my hubby, my kids and dog) know we will move back to the states sometime before this coming summer is over and we are hoping to bypass our hometown and head straight to NH.

Welcome! ;D

I am trying my damndest to be there before the summer is over. Since I have been in the snow for two years over here I figure that I should be able to handle the cold up there in the winter

i have a few questions and figured maybe someone could point me to some info on this stuff…

are there any GOOD tattoo shops in or around Keene??? not specifically for tattooing me, but possibly to keep my tattoo education going??

is there a community college or technical school or something in the area with a good cosmetology program?

yeah i am a big lame dork, i like to tattoo and do hair… haha

 EDIT-to fix bad spelling

If you’re targetting summer, bring your whole family to PorcFest:—

Capuzzo may be able to answer the tattoo question.  As far as colleges go, you may just want to call around on that.  I imagine there is such a thing at least in the region.

Welcome to the forum - if you do indeed plan to come out this way, be sure to check out Monadnock Families for Liberty at http://families.freekeene.com  8)

Thank you both for the welcome and the info. I mos def plan on heading to PorcFest if we make it back to the states by then. Back in NC my kiddos would somewhat get involved in activism and small acts of civil disobedience with me, so I will definitely check out that group, most of the families we knew at home would be horrified at the fact that I let my 5 year old skip school one day to play rockband hahahaha. We like to stick it to the man! Thanks for the link.

We do indeed plan on moving, hopefully sooner than later. I like the whole FSP idea but it looks to me like FreeKeene is where it is at as far as a concentration of activists and all that jazz (?may be wrong, but this is how it looks to me from reading blogs and stuff?), since I used to work from home a lot while we were in NC I spent a lot of time organizing and what not with my local Campaign for Liberty group. Sadly some of those people were not really into the same things I am into so our group had a falling out. Most of the people in the group had a lot to say but when it came to doing, they couldn't walk the walk.

Activists are all over the state. Keene is where the vast majority of “outside-the-system,” non-political activism and civil disobedience takes place. Some of the activists who have moved to Manchester are trying to make the same thing happen there, and it’s becoming more and more successful after last weekend’s arrests at a Manch 420 rally.

Political activists tend to concentrate in Manchester, too, or in the towns surrounding Manch and Concord, because that gives the easiest access to the State House in Concord.

Other places activists are concentrating include the seacoast (various towns) and Grafton. And activists are scattered all over the state in smaller towns, a few here, a few there.

This is the kind of thing I am normally caught doing. There is nothing I like more than a good ole fashioned 60s freakout or a smokeout on the lawn somewhere. Obviously I do not bring my kids to 420 events, that just opens the door for stupid child protective services to stick anything they can on you. This is not the only reason I think Keene is a good fit for us but it is A reason

Ian's right. I can help with the tattoos. I do tattoos out of my house. Very good work and cheaper than any shop because it's an agorist business. Send me a pm and I can get you pictures and such.

I've seen a couple tattoo shops around Keene and I wasn't even looking for them so there may be more in less-travelled areas. I don't know if they're any good. There is Keene State right off of the main drag in town but I don't know if they have a cosmetology program.

Hey Robin. I don't know if it's a good school, but there's the Keene Beauty Academy. There are also others throughout the state.

Cool. Keene sounds like the best fit for you then—or Manchester if you want to help grow the civdis movement there.

I agree, Keene it is

Robin, this forum is so much better than the FTL BBS

Pre-welcome Robin, et al.

Keene (and other places in NH, too) has everything you mentioned so far: tattoo shops, 420 smoke-outs, snow, dogs, families, community colleges, cosmetology schools, and CD and political activism.

I have noticed the intelligence level here is much higher than the FTL BBS. I really have not bothered to get into any serious discussion over there because no matter what I post it always goes back to something ridiculous.

also a big thanks to everyone who has welcomed and pre-welcomed me

I am going to check out the beauty school, was debating on finishing that up at a Paul Mitchell school before moving but that would mean I could not bypass home on my way up and I am not sure I really want to spend any more time where I was… always runs the risk of getting stranded there.

The FTL BBS is the 4chan of the freedom movement.

When I was making up my mind about moving here, the FTL BBS was always the strongest argument against.

I don't know why, Richard.  It has 0 to do with the NH liberty movement.
