In the segment ā€˜Degeneracyā€™, I referenced this news piece, just in case anyone was wondering.

Iā€™m not going to even watch this- the thumbnail is enough.

So you have a naked man hugging a child. This is sexual. Children can not consent to sexual acts, and therefore this is actually prohibited by libertarianism. The merits of taking a specific response is another issue, but nothing about libertarianism allows engaging in sexual acts with children. We can argue about 16/17/18 all day long, but at some point a human is clearly a child and this person looks about 11?

You called this a drag show on the show, and maybe it is. But my understanding of drag shows, regardless of my opinion on them, was that men dress in drag. Which would mean that they are dressed. This man is not in a state of dress.

What libertarianism would do that statism does not is allow you to disassociate from people. Sure, under statism you can refuse to hang out with people *Terms And Conditions May Apply but you can not refuse to subsidize them or even to do business with them. Even if someone thought that this wasnā€™t a NAP violation, which it is, or if they decided themselves for a multitude of reasons to refrain from defensive force, they could actually unwelcome people who engage in this behavior from the community by refusing to engage in any business with them. And the extent to which people were willing to do that is the extent to which they got the society they deserved. Statism creates large corporations and discrimination laws that are feared even when they donā€™t actually apply in a given situation. (Courts have actually cited the discouraging effects on near illegal behavior as a benefit of legislation.)

When the State isnā€™t busy outright subsidizing degenerate behavior, it is preventing individuals from discouraging it.

Iā€™m not sure I even want that in the thread Iā€™m reading.

Also, Iā€™m breaking the link to delete the thumbnail. Been raided by the Feds one too many times. People can copy the link if they want.

Great show, guys.

I guess, Mark, I havenā€™t clawed into the question like you asked. I suppose Iā€™m willing to think more about these questions on the forum where admittedly I can be a little more comfortable than when I call in.

What Iā€™ll tell you runs across my mind is this idea of a long-con. The end game. I think about what the US will be like when Iā€™m seventy or so, so 2068. By that time, the way I see things going, the US will be completely eroded culturally. English will be on the way towards obsolescence as different areas of the country are speaking Spanish, Chinese & Arabic as the colloquial tongue now. Sure, it might be the subheadings on buildings or maybe even underneath whatever other language on a restaurant menu. By that time, Iā€™ve been outnumbered by new voters to the point where there is no chance for even a struggle by Americans as we know them in 2017 alone. A family comes in from a third world country, 5 children, perhaps 7 children, and 20 years later my vote has been cancelled out 7 or 9 fold by people who never assimilated or chose to try to be American in any meaningful sense. Masses and Masses, not only voter blocs but entire segments of the population being replaced one after another. In my own home city of Omaha, once a place mostly German and Irish with some Poles, Italians and the blacks in the north, Mexicans in the south now floored entirely with new people, a sea of hijabs to be seen from the tops of our buildings. Churches emptied and replaces by Mosques, the entire city slowly transforming from the place itā€™s been from the 1800ā€™s into some leftyā€™s wet dream of inside an international train station.

If you think social cohesion will be the same, or even comparable, youā€™re wrong. It would be probably at least liveableā€“at least tolerable, if there was any sort of social obligation to assimilate. For the people who come here to at least try to be American in the way I know. Thatā€™s never going to happen.

So I ask, what is the good in this? What is supposed to be beautiful about this like these talking heads keep telling me? Why is this supposed to make us stronger? It doesnā€™t sound particularly beautiful to me. It sounds tragic, like watching an old friend lose his mind and to have a new personality he dreamed up become this unfamiliar and unfriendly thing.

When youā€™re Mark the dead guy(probably, medicine might get better and push that by a few decades), and Iā€™m on my deathbedā€“circa 2085ā€“will it not be sad? At that point, will it really be an honest statement to say ā€œthere was no such thing as American cultureā€? What kind of 87 year old man will have wanted to spend a whole entire life watching his home degenerate?

I canā€™t disagree with that view of the future, ignoring the obvious in this case is good for the mental health thoughā€¦lol. The family in current American culture is just about gone. So many kids damaged by divorce alone.

In response to Wednesday nightā€™s show, I just want to say to the claim that many Americans are ignorant about Islam, that the reality is different from my own lens.

For the record, Iā€™m 19, and every single, and I mean EVERY SINGLE mention of Islam in any history or social science or humanities related class was always met with apology and defence and a comment like ā€œmany Americans are ignorant about Islamā€. Can you blame my skepticism when my education on the subject was met with pathetic apologies? Not just talking about college By the way, I mean high school too and even middle school.

ā€œIn the early 600ā€™s, Muhammad used his army to dominate the city of Medina[or something, this is just an example]. But remember, class, Muhammad was a nice warlord. His warmaking was for peace, because Islam is a religion of peace. You probably wouldnā€™t think this because of Fox News and talk radio, but many Americans are ignorant about the true nature of Islam.ā€ isnā€™t too far off from the kind of shit Iā€™d hear. The most obviously SJW teachers would also over pronounce it as [Eess-laam] instead of just saying [Iz-lum] like most people say around here.

I remember rolling my eyes when I heard the old ā€œChristians can do bad stuff too, and the poor Muslims dindu nuffinā€ lecture during the crusades chapter of my AP world history class when the day/week before there was a map with Iberia, Southern France, Sicily, Greece and the entire Balkans region being taken over by Muslims. They must think weā€™re really stupid or that weā€™ve been buying into all the PC lefty bs weā€™ve been learning for as long as weā€™ve been taught it.
A frightening amount of us actually did, the future voter base is terrifying to me.
edit: Iā€™m in NE, I can only imagine what the narrative is like in blue states.

I donā€™t have a dog in this fight, except that I value religious freedom and hate collectivism. I think itā€™s pretty reasonable to expect textbooks, just as universities to have a leftist bias, and by that, I mean toward whateverā€™s fashionable amongst the left.

However, there is a great deal of truth the reality that many Americans ARE ignorant about Islam, and Christianity as well. In fact, many people around the world are ignorant about both. When you get down to brass tacks, IDEOLOGY, of which religion is a subset, has been used as an excuse for a great deal of the worldā€™s violence, and religion is not necessary for it, hence Mau, Pol Pot, Castro, Stalin, Che, etc.

Iā€™m pretty sick of the red/blue bullshit. Both collectives are full of shit.

Iā€™m 34, and I had a random thought the other day about how I can remember being taught the 5 Pillars of Islam in public school but nothing at all about other religions.

Iā€™ve had this funny feeling for the last year or so that the Saudiā€™s are the ones actually funding the ā€œfeministā€ and modern ā€œsocialistā€ movements to purposefully destroy Western society. All that oil money used to spread their religion. Makes a bit too much senseā€¦

The platform Mark is talking about already exists. Itā€™s called Yours.org .

You can charge for all or part of an article, and you can tip. It uses Bitcoin Cash. From what I can tell, the mining fee on a tip is on the order of 2Ā¢ right now.
