Hey all!!! I've finally decided to try and make the move from DC, hopefully this coming spring or early summer…or even by Porcfest.
I only know a few of you all from facebook, so allow me to introduce myself and say Hi!
I am really excited to be around more liberty minded people who are just as passionate about these ideas as I am. The story as to how I came to the ideas of Liberty is quite an interesting story. I am thankful to FTL for helping me realize that I wasn't alone in my "radical" ideas…I say radical sarcastically of course.
For once in my life I feel confident and comfortable expressing my true ideals, and no more like a walking zombie. Growing up in DC can produce a certain kind of attitude; one that can be hard to break. I graduated from high school at DAR across the street from the White House, then attended college across the street from the White House, and then worked across the street from the White House for about 6 years. That's almost 10 years of living and working in a 6x6 block radius within the beast. I have never truly felt like I belong. Finally at the age of 30, I've stopped fighting the ideals that have been forced upon me, and decided to take the leap and move. (fingers crossed; moving with 2 large dogs can be tough)
I hope to meet you all one of these days!
-Nikki
Welcome.
I couldn't imagine having to be at the hub of the government.
Awesome! You should carpool up with Eddie Free, who is also moving up from DC around that time. 8)
Keene is going to be a big change from icky DC.
Eddie and I have talked about being roommates, so hopefully that works out.
I've actually been driving around the country for the last 4 months staying in UT, NM and LA, housesitting and working, and EVERYWHERE so far has been friendlier, calmer and visually nicer than DC. I think NH is beautiful and I love being outside, so I can't wait to experience spring in NH!!!
Thanks Capuzzo and Ian!
