My statist name is Jonathan, but my Free name is Helio.
I've been statism free for over a year now and I am tremendously happier with myself as a human being.
I heard about this site from RidleyReport on youtube (yes his silly advertising worked!).
I am not a FSPer because of a minor quip with the wording of the statement of intent, but I plan to make the jump to NH eventually.
The reason I am posting here is i've been lurking awhile and have been encouraged with those of you who are taking action, and I want to live near such people. I usually hang out over at www.dailyanarchist.com and have written a couple of blog articles there.
Philosophically, I am an anarcho-capitalist, a rothbardian propertarian, and a SEKIII agorist (who also likes the ancomm's concept of possession). I adhere to the Absolute Individual Sovereignty Principle, and from that, the Non-Aggression Principle.
I want to know if I would be well received in Keene by you activists, because I have differences about how to proceed toward liberty. I want to put the 'capitalist' in anarcho-capitalism. My area of focus for activisim will be economic. I want to provide products, services, employment opportunities, and charity to all comers. I don't plan on utilizing open disobedience as I believe that faith in moral state power is strengthened through acts of defiance when the majority view obedience as the cardinal virtue in life. I do not shun disobedience because I think it is useless or wrong, but rather because it requires a mass of sufficient gravity to show the futility of imposing rule upon people. I want to grow that mass and to do that I'm going to have to convert statists to freemenists.
My methods are to be industry, charity, and kindness. Statists always accuse liberty lovers for not caring, and I intend to take that moral high ground from them. I believe to gain their trust and confidence, I must produce greatly, and give greatly. I believe I can make the state choose between being useful to its supporters, and keeping their obedience. I believe, not only is liberty right, but also more useful and beneficial than predation.
Do I belong in Keene with you?
Sounds like You'd fit in, to me. 'Course, I'm not there yet, either, so, take that with a grain of salt.

I assume you say that to explain why you'll be moving, and not as a question. Cuz that would be a really collectivist thing to ask.

How does a person direct a question toward an aggregation of individuals without sounding like a collectivist? Perhaps I should have worded it differently.
I want to know what each activist here thinks about whether what I had to say appealed to them, or at least as many as will respond. It won't make much sense trying to start up a business or two if none agree with what I'm doing.
You would totally fit. Not everyone is a disobedient. I agree it only works well en-masse. Come on up!

I won't speak for Keene, since I don't live there, but the growing number of agorists in Manchester have more than just agreement with what they're doing: they have customers.

No doubt, there are more economic opportunities out that way. Keene is the frontier. You have to be a little more hardy out this way.

As soon as I get the 'capitalist' part of my plan going, so that I can be an economic asset to the movement. (I'm not independently wealthy, but I'm working on it!)

That sounds fascinating! Can you link me a site about them? Part of what I want to encourage is intrastate trade networks and associations.

A principle I adhere to is to concentrate as much force upon a single point to achieve maximum effect. Keene seems to have a higher concentration of activists than other areas in the state, so that is where I want to be also. That is my observation so far, only based upon web browsing and may not be accurate. It is also a college town with a bunch of hungry and poor college kids that want good work. I want to try and provide business opportunities to them. I have myriad questions about the economic activities of Keene, but I'll post that at a later time in the markets forum.
On the face of it, it looks like activists are generally on the poorer side of things. One of my goals is to create the perception among future converts from statism that being a Freemenist is be prosperous and happy.

Sounds like you might be the one to make the site about them.
I'm glad Keene seems to have the highest concentration, but that is not true. We're just good at promoting ourselves. You'll find the highest numbers in Manchester.
Not meaning to resurrect a dead thread, but just wanted to follow up and say that I was able to finally make the move to New Hampshire. I found a porc manor room (thanks Alec & Katie!) while job hunting.
The job situation for software engineers is pretty good here as I was able to land a really good gig in Nashua after three weeks of looking. I brought my fiancee with me as well and we'll be married October 5th, 2012. Hoping to have a gaggle of babies after that and raise them to be sovereign individuals.
It was a huge financial risk that my fiancee and I took coming here. We got rid of almost everything. I sold my car, and packed what we absolutely had to have in hers, and used our tax return money to make the trip. What an experience.
Now life is pretty damn good.
good to hear about alec and katie I was already in talk to move in there next month.
just working it out so that I can take my current job with me when I move.
hope to see when I get there.
