Found these to be interesting… especially the second one. I’ve never seen these arguments
so perfectly expressed. (No, I don’t believe that we are headed for dictatorship, or at least
I don’t believe that it is very likely).

Unfortunately, I cannot now say that. It is unfortunate, but there are now so many supporters
of what Trump is doing that we might indeed be headed for a complete dictatorship, and a
plutocratic fascist state. Some say we are already fascist, and have been for a while.
At the base is the overriding Nationalism that Trump is touting. The whole idea of “America
First” has been so appealing to the people of this country that it has been very easy for Trump
to capitalize on that.
I now believe that the US is on the same path that the Nazi party in Germany was on in the
1920s. Trump’s alignment with Putin is reminiscent of Mussolini’s alignment with Hitler in
the 1930s. While the German Nazis and Italian Fascists were sometimes at odds, and Trump’s
views and Putin’s views are sometimes at odds, this does not mean that the combination, in
both situations, was not catastrophic for the world.
Unless Americans wake up this year, we are headed for disaster.
