Hi everyone!
Lovebeyondwords told me about this site and it seemed fitting.
I used to work for an activist newspaper in London, was involved in the Occupy movement, and was active in the Libertarian party and Constitution party in Florida (still am). I tried becoming a delegate in Florida the past election. I followed the rules to do so and was ashamed at the process. It is so corrupt. I knew this already, but I thought I would play by their rules to try and get Senator Paul elected. Witnessing the corruption first hand jaded me even more. I enjoyed the third party debate but was upset that it was not aired on major media networks. It is becoming clear voting does nothing and the mainstream media is a joke.
I'm a travel journalist, and I'm in the middle of a project. I am hitchhiking on planes to 50 states (see JetHiking.com) and writing about what I find in each state. There is unrest everywhere…to say the least. I'm writing a book about the adventure.
I'm in Maine right now, and will be hitchhiking my way to New Hampshire in the next couple days. I'd love to meet some of you!! Please contact me if you are interested!
Thanks!
Amber
Amber,
I'm a FL native, moved here in 2006 for the Free State Project and am so glad I did! I too was active in the LP down there. Up here liberty-oriented people are actually winning elections and doing a whole bunch of other cool activism like civil disobedience and media.
Keep us in the loop about your arrival!
It looks like there might be a break in the weather and I might be flying in this afternoon. Does anyone know of an affordable place to stay or camp?
