To Speak Freely

Hi.

My name is AJ. As of this post I live in the city of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, and I am 25 years old. I was born in Tomah, Wisconsin, in October of 1984, though I spent much of my life living elsewhere around the country and the world. I was recommended to check out this site by someone at Porcmanor, which I had found through the Free State Project website, which I am a member of. Of course, only recently have I begun registered with the forum there or attempted to contact people now that I am half-way to reaching $2000 in preparation for my move to the Great State of New Hampshire. It was the first colony to declare independence from England and to this day remains true to its motto "Live Free or Die". Who wouldn't want to be part of that? I spent several months in Groton, CT for my submarine training when I was in the Navy, so I know what New England weather is like (somewhat).

I am interested in either moving to Keene, Manchester, or any other town or area (hopefully not far from Manchester) where I can work and live and become part of something bigger and better than myself not just for the benefit of others here and now, but for future generations as well. Such as my future, and maybe one day, my own children.

I believe in the Constitution. I served two years in the Navy and after I was given a General Discharge, Under Honorable Conditions, in 2005 I learned for the first time what the Patriot Act was. I'd never heard of it before, though it had been passed four years prior. That was where my current journey in life started. After that I moved to Iowa and stayed with my dad for a while, and after a year I enrolled into college. It didn't work out, but while there my mind was introduced to new and bolder ideas and I became more fanatical about freedom and limited government.

After my unsuccessful attempt at college, I dropped out after that first year, and moved to my birth-state of Wisconsin. With some help from my mother I moved to Tomah and moved in with a coworker from my new place of employment. I lived there from 2007 to January 2009. I went to see Ron Paul in the Twin Cities for his book signing in September 2008. I do not remember when or how I learned of him, but since then my beliefs have only gotten stronger.

I own a copy of The Federalist, Common Sense by Thomas Paine, The Communist Manifesto, and Walden and Civil Disobedience (a collection of the works of Henry David Thoreau). I have read much of the Communist Manifesto so that I may know the face of my enemy and his plans to undermine the People and their God-given Rights and Freedom. I have not yet begun Walden and Civil Disobedience, but I have gone through a bit of Thomas Paine's Common Sense and looked through The Federalist (I keep it for reference, really). I always keep a pocket-size copy of the Constitution and Declaration with me almost all of the time. I truly believe in the ideals and principles of the Founding Fathers, free market capitalism, and republicanism.

And to finish up, so you know there's more to me than meets the eye… I'm quite an anime geek and spend a lot of free time playing World of Warcraft (when I'm not logged on at Myspace.com or reading up on political news and stuff). I like to watch movies (faves are V for Vendetta, Braveheart and The Patriot). I also spend a great deal of time listening to heavy metal music while at my computer or when I'm out walking around town (that's my main mode of transportation after I wrecked my last car). DragonForce, High on Fire, Lordi, Metallica, Linkin Park, and The Offspring are few bands I'll name. I am a writer, a bit of a poet, and am currently working on an on-going three year project for a fantasy/adventure novel of my own creation. That there causes me to spend a lot of time reading up on Norse and Greek mythology, and any literature related to Warcraft, Dungeons and Dragons, or Lord of the Rings to help me use my imagination.

So as you can see, I've pretty much given you a short autobiography of myself. I hope this is enough for the introductory post, cause if its not, I can come back and add more. Hahaha! Just kidding. I hope someday, sooner rather than later, I'll have the things I need all lined up and in order for my move to New Hampshire.

The Time is now. Liberty in our Lifetime!

Great introduction. Welcome to the forums!

Welcome! I like civil disobedience, by Thoreau – definitely one of my favorites. You might want to check out the anti-federalist papers as well.

Personally, I'm a supporter of the NAP, but I certainly recognize constitutionalists as my allies, and wish there were far more around.

Very cool - congrats on your decision.  I used to be one of those constitutional guys.  Then I found Lysander Spooner's "the constitution of no authority", which I have not read in full, but that is not necessary:
