1. Tell us about yourself.
I am Temper. The name come from when I was using AOL and went to the Internet in 1998. It was a very exciting time for me. There's more to the story, but I met high school friends online too, kinda. And since there are so many Jason's (or were), my Given name, I got called Temper. I kinda like it. Jason is my Given Name. Temper is my taken name.
2. Why are you here?
Interestingly enough, I have started www.mybtc.cc, amongst other projects, and want Keene, NH to be the first place with adoption. To do that, I guess I need to meet people. This is not a strong character trait for me. Anyways. My plan is to visit. At least for PorcFest. I would like to come up a bit earlier then that too - to meet people over business stuff. I don't have a lot of money - just a lot of ideas. Some you will like - some you will not.
3. How did you find the Shire Society?
FTL.com mostly. Ian Freeman knows me probably better than he wished to. I talk to Mark Edge quite a bit too. Listeners of FTL probably know who I am. I am basically Dave with a lot less compulsion. HAHA, even that is debatable.
4. Did I sign the "Shire Society" oath/pledge/whatever?
No. I don't wish to have anything but loose verbal arrangements with the Shire Society. My obligation is to my morality.
5. What do I think of the Shire Society?
I think it's great.
6. So why not join?
Funny thing, I was once a Boy Scout. Put a lot into it. I was 1 Merritt Badge from Eagle Scout. My troop was #1 in Omaha, NE, now defunct, it was the oldest charter in NE. Anyways some of the troop members were "rule breakers". My Scout master believed that Scouts were to help others. And he did help. Anyways, the local charter thought scouts were about image. They just stopped advertising the troop and sent all new recruits elsewhere. It died.
So I don't join things. My flag is one of my own. Just how I feel about group/organizations/whatever.
welcome!
Welcome to the forum, Temper.
