Kaczynski said that " technology may hold the seeds to destroy itself". I can think of a few ways to interpret this.

I have a theory that the Fermi Paradox is solved by a great filter of technology: as technology advances, it becomes ever more democratic, and even the lowliest crazy person can wield immense power to destroy the planet (Deadly contagious engineered virus? 3D printed gravity bomb? Autonomous killing robot?)
