Retreating to the Free State

Hello everyone!

My name is Aaron, I am a proud member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and a dedicated libertarian. At 23, and with a string of bad luck, I have decided that Keene, NH–and true American Liberty–is all I want.

I wasn't interested in politics or government until 2007 when Ron Paul arrived on the scene. Then, I was more or less a Republican, and even worked on a campaign to [successfully] elect a Republican candidate to the House. I've learned a lot since, and I think now I identify most with Classical Liberalism. Not that it matters, anybody that wants freedom is a friend and neighbor to me. I learned of the Free State Project a little more than a year ago and became fascinated with New Hampshire. I found out about Keene and the hotbed of activism here, and then I found FreeKeene.com. That's how I ended up on these forums.

In the past few months, I lost my long-term girlfriend, my best friend (my dog), and most recently, my job. At the end of my lease, with only a little money and my trusted Ford F-150, I set out for Keene. I've been here for several days now, living out of my truck. Surprisingly, I've already had one job interview and I have another scheduled for Friday. I'm looking forward to finding a place right in downtown Keene in early August.

I'm really excited to join you all in defending freedom across New Hampshire. If there are any volunteer or activism opportunities, I'd love to help out.

Also, if anybody would like to trade labor for a place to pitch a tent, I'm your man.

Welcome.  There are plenty of opportunities for activism and volunteering.  Start with the calendar at http://calendar.freekeene.com

Come out to McCue's at 5:30p on Sunday for Social Sunday to meet some folks.

Thanks for the warm greetings! I'm definitely planning on McCue's this Sunday, I look forward to meeting you there.

Sorry to hear about your dog.

Nice to meet you, Aaron.
