Hey everybody! I'm Zackie and I'm at my fourth and final year at Keene State College. My interest in muckraking was genetically imbued in me by my father who is a big pain in the City of Cambridge, MA's arse. Although I've always retained a political morality and interest, I feel that acquainting myself with FreeKeene is the first time I've become involved with a large group of activists.
For my final year in Keene (apologies to the movement, but I'm young, want to travel, and never felt a strong affinity with low temperatures) I organized an art collective, which we creatively deemed the name, The Collective. We've outlined some of our goals on a facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=55164709830&ref=ts) but the overall idea is that we serve as a space for free-minded/creative individuals to benefit artistically, intellectually, and socially through creative process. We are striving to educate one another in a way that is far more hands on, embracing, and raucous than any public learning institution that I'm familiar with. By exposing and reversing social conditioning we hope to extend our community further. We hold events, concerts, workshops, parties, and lots of things in between; community-building toe-jam if you will.
My interests include but are not limited to:
-Music - Jazz (specifically Afro-Cuban Jazz and stuff made in or after 1950), hip hop (underground/genre-meshing/politically charged), and far more that I won't bore ya'll with. I play with a few different bands around Keene as well (sing, rap, keyboard, synth, hand percussion).
-Not wearing clothes.
-Acting (both a fool, onstage, and in front of the camera).
-Shamanism/Shapeshifting.
-Billiards.
-Travel.
-Outdoors.
-Radio DJing (my show Space Is The Place airs Tuesday from 10PM to Midnight on 91.3 or by live-stream on wknh.org).
