Ohai dere!

Hi everyone! I'm Danica and I'll be moving to New Hampshire very soon. I've been involved with the Free State Project roughly since 2010-11 thanks to a friend of mine. I'm excited to move up here! I'm moving from the West Coast so it's going to be a fun albeit long journey. My hobbies involve art/design, video games, anime, and of course hanging out with liberty-minded people.

I'll also be looking for a roommate. I plan to be moved and settled in by the first week of June, however it depends on how soon I can liquidate my excess stuff and find a job. It likely will be sooner but we'll see!

Welcome to the Forum. Look forward to additional activists moving to the Shire. Videogames rocks!

Selling most of your stuff is a great idea. It would cost way too much to move stuff across the country. You can find/buy used stuff once you get to the Shire.

Oh yes, I'm definitely selling most of my stuff, at least furniture wise. My movies and video games and such will be taken with me.

There's a special discount shipping rate for books, I believe. At least there was when I was moving. I did a value vs. weight analysis to figure out which things would be worthwhile to ship out here and what wasn't worth it (most of it). I sold the rest if I could or just donated it to Goodwill.

Congrats, how exciting!

Congratulations! What a really exciting transition for you.

Have you decided on a region or town in NH yet?

Be careful not to rush, as exciting as getting here is, the whole experience will be much better if you feel stable throughout the process. I have had a wonderful time since my move just over a year ago, but I am also about to endure a 2nd move within New Hampshire chasing jobs.  Plan to have at least 3 months living expenses available just in case there's a gap in employment or an unexpected issue with a roommate.

Hi Danica!
I look forward to welcoming you home to the Shire soon.  It sounds like you'll be here in time for PorcFest.

Please let us know how we can help and if you have ANY questions.
