I signed up a while back, but haven't posted anything. I think.
I live in California, but I'm dead set on one day moving to New Hampshire. It's my dream. It's not just about liberty, though that has a lot to do with it, I've never lived outside of California and dang it, I like the cold!
I've signed the intent form for the Free State Project.

To be completely honest with you, I don't have enough money nor do I even have a job right now. Other than that, I don't have any commitments which would bind me here.

Do I have to show you the unemployment rates for our two states, side by side?
What do you do? What else can you do?
There's another guy that is coming here to wing it. Worst case- you end up homeless here vs. homeless there in CA. It's not the most responsible approach, but you have nothing to lose, it seems.
Where in Cali do you live? I am in southern Cali, There is another guy that lives here and will be moving in March with the Caravan that is leaving Cali and going across country. You may want to see if you can catch a ride with them. I wont be ready to move in March so I wont be joining them
Good news! About an hour after my last post I got called in for a job interview and got hired! It went very well.
@Sovereign Curtis
@Ian
As much as I want to move right now, I don't feel comfortable moving until I've saved up enough money to move with a sense of security. How much is enough? I honestly don't know. Apart of my New Hampshire dream is owning a home in a rural area, as I'm really into freedom and living out in the country is known for being less restrictive than in the city.
I'm not "homeless," I'm living with my folks.
@rabbit20
Stockton.
I've heard about the California caravans. That's certainly one way to make it over. I'd absolutely love to drive across country, but I can't be certain my old Tercel could make it.
Welcome to the forums! Hmmm we seem to get a lot of folks from CA, I wonder why…
