Newbe here

Hello out there in the land of the coward and home of the slave.I am a from FEMA region 6 .aka Oklahoma .I found out about this site on YouTube. I hear your area is a very nice area of the former U.S.A. Just pulling the chain alittle . I just hope these words are not our future. I love this country but it is not the country I grew up in. It saddens me daily how far we have come in just to few years. I am 54 married 2 kids a new grandchild , I fear the world they are growing up in. The freedoms I see lost almost on a daily basis. If anything can be done to preserve this country I think it will have to done soon. My family has been here for 300 years , members of it since the revolutionary war onward . So you might say my blood has deep roots. So as it has been said : Better to die on your feet than live on your knees!!! Thanks

Welcome!  Do you plan to move to the Shire?

No ,but I would like to visit. The shire idea might be possible in Oklahoma also. I know of a county that has only 2000 people . Land there is cheap and taxes are low. If enough people moved there they could elect their own sheriff and take over the city government. That way there wouldn't be the problems with a hostile ruler ship which seems to be the case with your shire.

No, it's not possible - it's been tried elsewhere and no one else has been able to have the success that the Free State Project has had.  The point is to converge in one state, not a dozen of them.

I guess one is free to have only your opinion. If the free state idea is a good concept it will naturally grow . Don't you think it has the potential to outgrow the area you are in at present ? Thomas Jefferson wrote he would pefer anarchy over most forms of government. Not in the sense that most people view anarchy ,but a looser form of democracy. Which is close to what your shire is, ideas that have merit will always resurrect themselves time and time again. Not surprisingly truth is truth nor can it be confined.

Once we succeed to a large enough degree that more people follow a libertarian philosophy, sure. Then we'll have more libertarians and consolidation won't be as necessary. Starting FSP-lites in multiple places is basically just defying the concept of the FSP which is to consolidate efforts in one place. It's less following the idea of the FSP than it is the opposite of the FSP. You don't consolidate in multiple places. That's an oxymoron. At best it's a half-assed low-effort version. It's like saying "I like liberty but not enough to move. I want to just sit here and I want everyone else to make the effort to move to where I am." That's not going to inspire many people.

There have been some "I'm taking my ball and going home" versions of the FSP and they've both been pathetic IMHO. Free State Wyoming has hardly any numbers and no accomplishments that I know of and The Blue Ridge Liberty Project has fallen apart and lost what little bit of steam it had. The founder is now here in NH and I've talked to two other people from it who have said as much, one of whom is also here in NH and the other is just looking for work here so he can move as well.

I am on the verge of retirement . So just be fair I will visit your shire. I have a r.v. that I have converted to c.n.g. Just need a place to park it . I was planning on going Gypsie fora few years .

Cool - let us know when you are coming up.  We need more retiree activists…
