I'm a liberal man currently residing in Upstate New York, my hobbies include software engineering, political debate, and pouring through dry books like technical manuals and economic texts.

I found this site through the Free State Project's page on Facebook. I discovered libertarianism through Ron Paul, although I've always been one without knowing it. As a hobbyist computer programmer, I understand the practicality of keeping things simple.

I'm here because I'm interested in joining the Free State Project eventually – my father & stepmother will move to the city once my grandfather passes, which unfortunately will be sooner rather than later, and then I won't have much reason to stay around here.

The only revolutionary worth wearing on a shirt is Thomas Paine.

Hi. Welcome to the site. If you are ever up in the NH area, let us know.

Welcome to the forum! Please let us know if you plan to come to NH! Would love to meet you! Peace and Love!

Hi!  One of the things that I love about libertarianism is that it draws people from all sorts of different backgrounds.  For example, I came to libertarianism from the right, but now we can both transcend the false dichotomy of left-right politics.  Also, most libertarians became libertarians through their own personal reflection and research; it's not something that people inherit or are brainwashed into through partisan politics.  When I first started to embrace libertarianism I didn't even know that there was a word for it.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there was a whole spontaneous libertarian movement underway.  Anyway, I hope you make it up to 'the Shire' eventually.

I came to libertarianism from… libertarianism. I've always been a pacifistic, leave people alone, keep things simple kind of guy. Applying my social tendencies to politics was easy enough.

Welcome - looking forward to having you here in the Shire.
