Moving to Keene!

(ok hopefully, i don't lose the post this time)

1.  Tell us about yourself.
As for activism, some of my main interests include food freedom, anti-war, self-defense, monetary policy, alternative medicine, self-sufficiency, and home schooling. When I was younger I was a socialist.  But my views changed as I grew older.  (I'm probably one of the few people who switched from Green so they could vote for Ron Paul.)  I was heavily involved with the campaign last time around.  I ran to be a RNC delegate and was chosen to be my state's Rally for the Republic coordinator.  I also moderated a weekly conference call so Maryland activists could stay connected.  I then made the mistake of getting involved with general Republican politics since that had been pushed by the campaign/CFL.  At one point in time, one of my goals was to work for a "Ron Paul Republican."  But I don't think I could ethically work for the government now.  I've since become anti-political.  There's a good chance that Ron Paul is going to be the last politician I vote for.

The Revolution March was the first time I did something like that.  I didn't even know how to get there, so I had to ask someone for advice after getting off the metro, and of course they didn't live anywhere near here.  And this is going to sound crazy, but grandmother was sensitive and sometimes she could see things before they happened.  And before it, she told me she saw me standing on a statue with others shouting and greeting people and then that actually happened-since the group I was hanging with went up there and did that when we got to the end of the march.  I had forgotten about what she had said until I told her about the day's events and then she reminded me of her dream.  I know it's weird, but it felt like I was meant to be there.  It was such a life-changing experience to realize that you are surrounded by so many who feel the same way and who want to change things.

Why am I bringing that up here?  Well with me moving, the Veterans March last Monday is most likely going to be the last event I'm going to do down here.  It was similar in structure to the Revolution March and with the mixed feelings I felt since my views changed, it just feels like the end of a cycle.  Over the last few months, I've been actively working on self-improvement, so I can hopefully grow into the person I'm meant to be.  I always saw myself as someone who would never back down from doing the right thing or protecting someone.  But unfortunately, that's not always been the case :(  I'm tired of being scared and ready to start living and being.  Really looking forward to the next cycle in NH and growing and having new experiences.

2.  Why are you here?
Looking for resources.  I was laid off last week, so I'm planning on moving to Keene asap.  Might end up staying in NH after Liberty Forum, but that depends.  I'm hoping to find people who are looking at moving there, so I can find roommates to keep the cost down.  I have savings, but when you don't have a steady income stream, you have to be more cautious.  Working now on packing and finding a place.  My mom thinks I should go to Missouri where my family has land, since one of the things I've been considering is raising animals.  (I lived on a farm for part of my life as a child.)  But I don't want to move to the middle of nowhere. (it's so isolated you don't get cell phone reception).  And most importantly, her town doesn't have an active liberty population.  I want to live around people who feel the same way.

3.  How did you find the Shire Society?
Read the forum for awhile now, but never got around to registering.  I think I found it off the Free Keene website, but I don't recall.

Sorry to hear about the lost job, but sometimes things like that lead to better opportunities.

Drop into the Housing subforum in the Keene area here for some possible leads.  Of course, crash space is available at KAC as well.

Looking forward to having another lady in Keene!
