Moving to Keene very soon!

Hi all.  My name is Jesse, 26, and I've lived in Boise, Idaho my entire life.  For the past 8 months or so I have been considering moving to NH to be a part of the freestate project and a little while back I decided that it is something I definitely want to do.  Now everything is just kind of working out and pointing me in the direction of NH.

With all the great activism I've seen going on in Keene I am really excited to be there.  I'm  looking for a place right now (that link to the KeeneSentinel has been very helpful!) and packing things up here in Boise.

I'm looking for something that is less than 500\month,  preferably less than 400\month.  Found a couple prospects to call about tomorrow, but if anyone sees/hears about anything let me know.

Anything else you want to know about me, just ask.  I'm looking forward to meeting all the great people out there!

Welcome!

you can always try the winchester porc manor @ 150/month for couch space.

Yeah, that's one heck of a deal!  If things don't work out finding my own place I'll be looking into that.  Thanks!

Welcome!

Groovy!

FInding a single apartment for under $600 that isn't totally ghetto might be hard I'm afraid.

Yeah, but a room on a house at under $500 a month is doable.

There is continued high demand for rooms.  This area can really use some more porc-manors, investors take note!

There's that crap too.

Yeah, I kind of figured that as its the same thing here in Boise.  Of course if ghetto will get me there, then ghetto it is.
The past four years I've been lucky enough to have a decent roommate situation worked out and we've been living in a fairly big three bedroom house.  I have glanced at a few ads on craigslist of people looking for roommates, but I'm a little nervous about moving in with complete strangers…not sure if I could do that.

What do you want to be called when you get here?

Because we can't call you Jesse. That one is taken.

Call me the Dude!  Or Duder, or his Dudeness, or el Duderino… ;D

I'm sure someone will come up with something clever.

Mick :stuck_out_tongue: For Mick Jagger from the Stones.

Meh, I'm not really a huge fan of the stones.  "RollingStone" is a reference to Bob Dylan's song.

I just watched it once more a couple of days ago before packing it up.  I never get tired of that movie

No joke. The Beatles > Bob Dylan > Pink Floyd > Paul Simon > a bunch of other artists >> Rolling Stones. (imo)

And welcome to where I wish I were, from a Keene ex-pat  ;D

Speaking of Bob Dylan, anyone there ever watched "Masked and Anonymous"?
If anyone is a Dylan fan or just wants to watch a very unusual movie, this is a movie for you.  Cast includes:  Bob Dylan, Jon Goodman, Jeff Bridges (the Dude), Penelope Cruse, Mickey Rourke, Luke Wilson, and a couple other names I don't remember.

There is a scene in this movie that is a great reference for me as to why I really don't really like any label as far as anarchist/minarchist/voluntariest/ etc.
Liberty activist is good enough for me.
Maybe I can bring it to one of these movie nights when I get up there.

I know someone in Manch who's looking to move to Keene as soon as a room is available. I'll refer him to this thread.

Welcome, Dude!

That would be great!  I've seen so many great deals on two bedroom apartments in the past few days and its a little discouraging when you're just looking for a place for yourself.
