Hi everybody,
I'm Ishtar, I'm a foreign national (Belgium) here on a student visa, but recently married to a US citizen.
I'm going through the paper work stack to get my green card in order at the moment. (At the moment, I can't wait to get citizenship, just so that I can join the activism without getting kicked out of the country, but it seems like that will be a while away as matters stand >:()
My husband is a long time listener of FTL and has been signed up with the FSP from the very beginning.
We're recently decided to move to NH, hopefully before the end of this year, and at the most, in early spring of 2011.
My husband has got the green light from his job to start tele-comuting (he's a software engineer) so finding work isn't an issue.
We're planning to buy a house in NH, but want to live there for a while before we make up our minds on what region, so we're going to rent as cheap as possible the first year (saving for a down payment and all…).
So far so good, but the main problem we're stuck on is this one:
Because my husband will be working from home, he'll need an internet connection as soon as we arrive, and we can't wait for a couple of days/weeks for the internet to be hooked up.
So even if we just move all our stuff and get an apartment as soon as we get there, we're stuck, because he needs the internet connection right away.
We've been thinking about this problem for about 2 weeks now, and we haven't found a way to fix it, so I thought I'd trow it out to some people who have already made the move, and might have had similar issues.

I should have specified that mobile hotspots won't do, because most of NH only has 3G coverage, and even with 4G coverage, the connection is barely sufficient for what my husband would need.
These two companies are in Manchester:

Just go to Panera or another place that has free WiFi?
Oh, and congrats in advance on the move!
Thanks Ian, that might be our best option.
It would only be for a few days/weeks until we get internet set up.
I'm currently finishing my semester at school, and we'd be free to move in mid-December.
I can't wait to get to NH, on top of all the other things I like about the region, it will be great to live somewhere where there are people you can talk to about political ideas without them either assuming that you're insane or amoral for thinking the currently US isn't free at all.
Montreal being close enough to actually be able to fly again so I can finally take him to meet my parents would be nice too. ;D
