Maine draft bill for adult use cannabis increases tax to 20%

I still haven’t read the entire draft yet.

On the bright side, they got rid of the 800,000 sqft canopy limit.

There is also a small grower tier license that allows up to 500 sw ft of canopy for $500 per year. The bar to entry is pretty low.

It’s a stopgap measure to keep the welfare state’s books balanced, they’re all going to legalize it eventually because of the revenue stream.

Passed, then vetoed by the governor. There is a vote to try to overturn the veto today.

This works to my benefit. The longer the delay, the longer the gray market activity will go on. Customers will go to the stores once those open.
