I am a little uncertain as to how I should do this, so I'll just do it. I currently reside in Wisconsin and have questioned authority since I can remember. I was the kid who got up during class and instead of asking to go to the bathroom simply informed the teacher I would be going to the bathroom. Whenever I have been given the response "because I said so," or any equivalent of that statement, I have refused to obey. This has led to altercations with law enforcement including having my head smashed against a wall for underage drinking, as well being locked in a cage for insisting I did nothing wrong and drawing out the court process. These events and others took place in my recent past and were often exacerbated by my quick witted sarcasm aimed at the State's goon squad.
Over the last few years I have really honed in on what I believe to be true; no man has the right to rule over another and that a monopoly on force is counter intuitive to liberty and freedom to individuals. My clear understanding of what I believe has led to many conversations with others trying to open their eyes; often resulting in people thinking I'm crazy or an extremist. This baffles me as letting the few control the many seems quite extreme and crazy to me, despite how long it has been going on.
Keene seems like the logical place for me to move. The activism is incredibly appealing and the city of Keene itself is similar to where I live as far as size and population. At this point it feels as if I am beating my head against a wall trying to "convert" Statists, and I think my time would be better spent working with liberty-minded individuals instead.
I am hoping to get some advice on moving to Keene as well as a good time to visit first. I have surfed around FreeKeene.com for some time and think it is a tremendous resource. One of the aspects most appealing to me is the ability to network with other Free Staters and current or future residents of Keene. I look forward to getting to know you so please feel free to engage me in conversation as well as offer tips on my move. Thanks in advance, I can't wait to get there.
LiberTEA- those must be some rough cops, what area are you from? I wouldnt be suprised if you was from Schenectady. over here theyll drive you way up north of the city, let you out, and make you walk twenty miles back in the middle of the night. One time the cops held some of my friends at gunpoint when they caught them drinking
welcome!
