James intro

I'm James from the geographical area known as "Ohio".  I am a husband, father, Chairperson of my county LP affiliate, paralegal student, and in my spare time I voluntarily trade my skills, with a corporation, for monopoly money.

I signed the FSP pledge a few years ago and am now thinking a bit more seriously about making the move to NH sooner rather than later.  I know very little about Keene, honestly, other than it appears to have a good concentration of active libertarians.  As for making the move to Keene, I'd have to say that if suitable career opportunities exist, then it seems like it would be a great place to call "home".

I came to this forum by way of listening to FTL, then watching the Derrick J's "victimless crime spree" movie, then finding Derrick on FB…and coming here from his suggestion.

I have to say that I really love and appreciate what you guys are doing in Keene.  Listening to Free Talk Live is great…and Derrick's movie was very well-done and inspiring!  I look forward to talking with everyone here, and Thank You again for all of the hard work that you guys are doing for the cause of Liberty!

Hi James,

If you don't find work in Keene, it's easy to find work in Nashua, NH if you're willing to commute 30-45 minutes in to Massachusetts. There is a lot of companies hiring in every field.

We have liberty meetups every Wednesday and Sunday in Nashua.

Are you going to Liberty Forum this year?  http://freestateproject.org/libertyforum

Thanks, Thinkliberty.  Yeah, I'll have to come up there and look around a bit.  I won't be able to make it to the Liberty Forum this year.  I am hoping that I can make it up for Porcfest in June, though.

Are you saying that a lot of people live in Nashua and commute to Mass for their jobs?  A 30-45 minute drive to and from work isn't really all that bad for me, because that's about what I do now. Like I said, I'll have to look around quite a bit up there and see what fits best for myself and my family.

Two liberty meetings a week…that's pretty frequent.  About how many people do you normally get to participate in your meetings?

Yes. I commute in to Mass because I can make more money than I could in NH.

I normally don't go to the meetings on Wednesdays, so I'm not sure how busy they are. A lot of the time I am at the hackerspace in Nashua called Makeit Labs. The Sunday meetings normally have between 20 and 25 people.

Welcome.  There are many places to live in NH.  I'm sure you will find the right one for you.

Keene has an okay job market as well. You can work in Keene itself or many of the small towns around it if you don't mind a commute: Brattleboro, VT, Northfield, MA, Claremont, NH.

We definitely could use more dedicated people in the Keene area. Regardless, I hope to meet you in NH soon.
