Introduce Myself

Video Vigilanty who what thrown in jail for 3 weeks for video taping police officers.  $10,000 cash only bail since I had a gun permit while Candia babysitter who critically injures an 8-month old gets $500 bail!  Four felony charges have since been dropped.  Originally charged with possession of crack cocaine which was a McDonald french fry on the floor of my car.  The charge was made on Saturday so I was kept in jail for the long 4th of July weekend.   The possession charge was never brought against me and was only alleged so it appeared that I was a gun wielding crack head.  It appears the Bedford PD is retaliating against me for filing a lawsuit against them 3 days prior for unauthorized video recording and audio recording (RSA 570-A:11).  Is there anyway to attach the video tape which shows this illegal wiretapping?

50+ cops showed up to my house including several swat teams, two helicopters, K-9s etc.  My entire neighborhood was in lockdown and there were roadblocks throughout Bedford.  Seems excessive for getting into a verbal argument with my wife?  The cops said that because I had a gun permit I was considered armed and dangerous.  So all people that have gun permits are gun wielding wacos?  What is funny about my situation is that all these cops looked for me for 8+ hours and I simply called a cab to pick me up and take me to a local hotel.  Great police work!  It appears that the police wanted to play GI Joe.

My professional reputation as a CPA is ruined and I will never be able to recover from the negative press, all because I tape the police and have a gun permit.

What should I do?

Are you Brian? If so, I remember reading about this episode in the Union Leader. Very bizarre.

Yes.  For some reason the UL and WMUR do not want the real story.

I still think I am in a bad dream.

Firstly and foremostely: welcome to Free Keene :)  As great as it is to have new people turned onto the ideas of freedom, peace, and liberty…  It is unfortunate that we will have new supporters only because they have been traumatized by the government.

It sounds to me that you've been screwed with your pants on by the state.

Question: are you out on bail for anything right now?  Any charges pending?

A comment on the article about Brian's plight has me laughing my ass off…

Camo'ed State Police Teams…

Helicopter…

Streets cordoned off…

Listen, Bedford Cops…do this, it will save you a TON of money.

Have Chief Mara invite him down to the Strange Brew to have a beer with a fellow Beford resident, and let Mara's Marauders give him an attitude adjustment out back, and then book him for resisting arrest.

The medical bills might be substantial, but no where near what a Helicopter has to cost…

Brian, it sounds like you did absolutely nothing wrong…  other than commit the "crime" of not wanting to be kidnapped by men with guns.

I'm very sorry you're going through such a hard time.  The police blew this way the hell out of proportion.

If you're dealing with depression…  you're anything but alone.  When I decided to quit my 11-year police career, I decided to quit a 9-year addiction to the drug Effexor.  It has made my life absolute hell.

If you'd like someone to have a coffee with and talk I'd be more than happy to meet with you :)  I live in Hooksett, right up the road from you!

"…but we're going to do everything right and we're trying to get him help." (emphasis added)

I immediately thought of:

One of the best slogans I saw at PorcFest this year.

Brian: Sorry to hear about this, but welcome to the forums!

In my humble opinion…  a person who is suicidal, who is not harming or threatening to harm anyone else, should have every right to NOT be helped if they don't want to be.

If you really belong to you, you should have the right to end your own life.  Unfortunately, that is not the way it is.  The state wants to "help" by sending an entire freggin' platoon of armed soldiers after someone.  There are countless stories on the internet about the police killing suicidal people.  That's some public service alright.

Brian, I think you will be happy to find that people here will not judge you for this obviously very difficult ordeal.  We who believe in liberty and freedom respect people who respect the rights of others.  According to even the news' biased reporting, you're not someone who did anything to infringe on anyone else's liberty.  The agents of the state, on the other hand, are  the real criminals here.

You didn't do anything to hurt anyone.  You just had a horribly emotional event…  that the state made worse.

Please keep your head up :)

Hi Brian,

Sorry to hear about this.

You should have a conversation with a good lawyer.

Any suggestions for a good lawyer, Lance the lawyer?

I kid – I really would love to see a lawsuit come out of this. Gotta get the charges dropped first though, I imagine (are any still pending?)

Brian, all kidding aside…  if you're looking/needing an attorney to help you through the maze of shit the state is tossing at you, you can't do better than a guy like Lance.  An attorney who understands the fundamentals of freedom/liberty.  :)  He probably could help you kick ass with your violation of privacy lawsuit also.

When we get together for a coffee I will be able to give you my non-lawyerly-11-year-former-cop opinion of everything, but as a liberty activist I'd strongly advocate keeping Lance in mind :D.  He's one of us…  and now you are too (sounds like).

At least they let me respond?
