Hello, My name is Abel and I am a FSP member and early mover. I voted for Alaska to be the free state but jumped at the chance to move to NH when the opportunity presented itself. Unfortunately, to earn money, I work in MA and have to deal with that states taxes/tyranny on a daily basis. Primarily I am an artist and home brewer and hope to eventually sell my brew in NH. I have been in Nashua for the last 5 years and have been focusing mainly on work and providing a stable lifestyle for my family.
I signed the Shire Society Declaration last year via the comments section of the web site and firmly agree with the goals and views expressed in the declaration.
I hope to meet friends and potential business associates who are of a like mind through the FSP and the Shire Society.
Honestly, I can't remember how I heard of the Shire Society.
Welcome! My husband and I are very, very novice homebrewers. We're trying some gluten-free brews, but haven't had much success.
I look forward to seeing your products in stores eventually!
I brew only one product but try to do it very well. I brew Sake. I have been looking into the rules surrounding the NH nano-brewing laws but have found that I have to comply with federal labeling regulations and of course pay their fees.
I am currently working on a small batch and a private label. If there are any skilled artists out there who have this kind of experience I would love to speak with them. Labels and art on paper are not my specialty.
Are plugged in with the active Nashua liberty group? James, Jeff, David, Carol, Melissa, Paul, Jack and the others are great.
A few of them are fellow home brewers.
No, I'm not familiar with them. I went to the Free Nashua web site but that site is heavily linked to Facebook. I don't make use of the service.
I will have to head to one of the events listed on the main page and meet people the old fashioned way. ;D

For a dark, gluten-free beer try George Washington's Small Beer made from molasses.
A light beer substitute can be had by making a mead with minimum honey, flavoring with hops, and carbonating.

I haven't seen that one before, I'll have to see if Barb's in Concord carries it next time I'm there. I will pass along your tip to my husband, we haven't tried a mead yet. Thanks!
There is a bear shop on Amherst Street in Nashua with a large selection. I will look for the George Washington's Small Beer next time I am there. Gluten isn't a big issue for me but I know folks that have had it nearly kill them.
Sorry, I should have specified… it's a homebrew, not comercial.
The folks at the Smithsonian recently found George's recipe amongst his papers.
Seems George was too much of a cheapskate to waste expensive grains on beer making, so he tried molasses.
It works!
The mead variation was my own idea. It works too!
Stop by southern tropical Grafton and you can sample it.
I'm a homebrewer. I like Green's for Gluten Free beer.
I'm usually at the Nashua social every week. Come join us every Sunday at 6pm at Martha's Exchange. We meet behind the bar near the brew tanks. We'd love to meet you.
Welcome to the forum - see you in NH! 8)
