I am from Texas and love it here. Never moved a 30 mile radious even for colllege. But I don't belong here anymore. Dallas was me before, now I just want to go where people are real. I tried http;;//libertydallas.comI can't wait for seasteading? I think its called. I'd be all over an anarchist island. 've been Libertarian/Anarchist/ODD since I can remember. School killed my soul, I gave in and went that way. Then something woke me up. Stefan Molenues, Ron Paul, Meredith brooks (examples) speak my language. I'm totally scared though I will admit. http://blogtalkradio.com/ronpaulgirl I am a personalt trainer and run a nonprofit so I'mnot tied down to my location for job. I just turned 29 though and I am just not living anymore here. It is so comfortable and safe but I am dying for air and new people who will think. My gf's never woke up. I was a bimbo sorority girl till age 25. I mean way bimbo. Then something shocked me out of my fairytale and eventually led me to wake up. I was raped (yada yada) supressed it, found out pregnant, had a girl, was forced to give her away, cant see her and she lives within 15 miles of me though apparently. I gotta get out of this town. But I've never lived anywhere else. I like hot weather and long summers, but I don't think I love it more than being free anymore. I'd also like to enjoy life again. Meet new people, drink and talk philosophy, go to Libertopia and all the cool events yall do. Be sweet to get a radio gi or something there. I'm just thinking out loud. GCN hired me to do a little video weekly thing for them and said maybe having my own radio show would be a posssibility.I wonder if being based in Keene would be more entertaining to them? Anyways, I didnt read the othr intro's yet, so I may be way off from the norm. But that's nothing new I guess. I love philosophy, huge nerd, read and host a lil blog radio show EVERY night. Yep, life is that boring. My favorite thing to do is to bring the pro-life (Christian Fundamental hypocriites (which is everyone I know here) to see the light on there big issue, abortion. Like I wish I was in Iowa right now cause can "sell" the bring it back to the states theory like no other in terms of abortion. They apparentl listen to me on that subject since I have been through it. Trying to get info together to go & people actually donated? Never would have thought. So now it looks like I may be visiting after all in January for the primaries and I've thought about this for years… but WHAT IF I just stayed and never came back? Might be the best way to get me outta here… let me think it's just a trip for a while. It's like when you decided I think? do you just want to be there now! So I had to post on here tonight cause I don't know who else to tell. If I mention to a friend, (they have talked me out of it before, but won't know) it's just pointless and I end up on the defensive. I could use some advice, criticism, truth, whatever might help me. If I'm not wanted I'd like to know. I mean, I like nice people. I would like a mini small town Texas to be keene NH (where everybody waves when they drive by kinda stuff) can the north handle me or can I handle the north? Thanks, see ya maybe. http://facebook.com/brookebida or http://facebook.com/ronpaulgirl or http://youtube.com/girls4ronpaul or a million other in that category, then http:/facebook.com/adoptionsupport http://facebook.combirthmom (aka goodie 2 shoes) and so on for all the different people I have to pretend to be here. I'm kinda ready to have integrity and be me everywhere. I feel like that's what Keene is maybe for… for me? MAybe or am I so off! I also love to get arrested and stand up for freedom and kick some ass too in "debates" Which I dont debate, who does? If anothe rperson has facts and truth I dont have to back up theree claim and I cant defend my view point anymore I change. Im after the truth, thats it. Thats not normal down here in bible belt. All my gf's married and boring. (not to be mean) I am way too objective after I got the rug pulled out from underneath my fairytale life. I basically went from Southern Baptist (a real believer) to an anarchist who doubts all religion but and confuse as ever on God. I've never done any drugs (except for prescription ones they love to give us gals down here) I am really into DMT, shamanism, the Ayathuasa pkant (that I refuse to spell right) and ma open to anything. Which makes me a target I know. (Had my fair share of people to take advantage of my natural inclination to assume everyone good person unless proved otherwise) I'm just in a spot in my life where I could ansd would actually LISTEN to others I admire and start living. I noticed that the more I apply the libertarian principles to the way I view the world, I'm also applying them to how I view myself. I'm honest with reality of the world and "scary" truths… but when it comes to being honest with myself, I am still lacking. I think moving to NH might help me more eith that. I dont know, sorry so long. Its late and not going to do a spell check till tomorrow!
Shoulda stopped there! This probably makes no sense, but better than nothing! Oh I was just listeening to Free Talk Live and then had the sudden impulse to go NOW ot Kenne. lol. I listen to podcasts / radio shows 24/7. I was a DJ in college if that helps any )like I mean it was an old episode, but are there any radio show type positions open or I can do live broadcasts too. did alot from the fed here in Dallas. But the great thing about being libertarian to the core I think… is that if there isn't a "place for me" I always make one so not a main factor in deciding. Wearing long johns though every day is however. lol. JK, kinda. I could stay here and sell out and do the whole marriage white fence think I used to want. But I'd be miserable now that I'm awake. I would love to be free before I die. Do u think that will ever happen REALLY for us someday?? I'd like to see better doctors too up there and maybe a few that really care about a persons health. I thake a ton of prescription meds for a bunch of things (thyroid disorder, heart issues, hormones outta wack, etc, lil stuff "they" docs, can jsut make much worse than better) and I know a that simple plant could help me so much more. Texas will be the last to legalize the greatest natural resource known to man, so I gotta leave before…
Hi!
So now it looks like I may be visiting after all in January for the primaries and I've thought about this for years… but WHAT IF I just stayed and never came back? Might be the best way to get me outta here… let me think it's just a trip for a while.
Visiting in January for a visit, then going back home to reflect and prepare and save–or, to let out a sigh of relief that you didn't decide to move around these weirdos-- would be a better way to go about things. You're not locked into anything you may want no part of three weeks later.
If you can't be you and have integrity where you are right now, then New Hampshire, Keene, Mars and the moon, aren't going to help you do it. I mean this in all sincerity-- moving doesn't change whatever you're moving away from. You can experience socializing with people, you can embolden yourself by going out and doing activism, but when you move you take yourself with you.

You'll definitely find that here.
I like hot weather and long summers
Definitely won't find that here. But the summers do get pretty hot (speaking as a former Houston area resident). And humid, too, which I like. Very Houston-like.
It's worth it, though, if you really enjoy libertarian activism. I am not aware of any comparable libertarian activist community on the planet. (Well, maybe Manchester… but those guys are lame. ;))
Be sweet to get a radio gig or something there.
That would be really easy. It seems like there are a gazillion liberty radio shows made in NH. Or you could try the local college radio and the other stations in the area.
I've thought about this for years… but WHAT IF I just stayed and never came back? Might be the best way to get me outta here… let me think it's just a trip for a while.
It's been known to happen.
I could use some advice, criticism, truth, whatever might help me. If I'm not wanted I'd like to know.
You're definitely wanted. I have been very satisfied with my own move from Texas, though I did make some dumb choices that I hope other people won't repeat.
I also love to get arrested
Haha. :P
Im after the truth, thats it. Thats not normal down here in bible belt.
No kiddin'.
I basically went from Southern Baptist (a real believer) to an anarchist who doubts all religion
I kind of did that. Well, with some intermediate stages.
I'm just in a spot in my life where I could ansd would actually LISTEN to others I admire and start living.
You sound like you really want to move to New Hampshire. Maybe you should. You can always move back if you change your mind, after all.
so not a main factor in deciding. Wearing long johns though every day is however. lol. JK, kinda.
Long johns aren't that bad. I didn't like my first winter in New Hampshire, but it hasn't bothered me since then. (Long johns helped a lot.)
Texas will be the last to legalize the greatest natural resource known to man, so I gotta leave before…
We're almost there, at least for medicinal purposes. We just need to get another governor. And that will happen in 2013.

I don't know that that's 100% true. It can be very different, being around so many people who agree and already get it, being normal instead of a heretic for once. I'm sure that changes some things.
Anyway, Brooke, if you think moving will make your life better, there's a good chance it will. There are hundreds of other people who have been very happy with their decision to move. It's certainly worth a visit, at the least. :)
Wow, that's quite a thorough intro. Welcome!

Not 100%, but having room and space to grow and mature in some areas is not the same as having bigass problems. I don't mean to imply that about her specifically, I really don't. (I'm not even sure how I typed it all out while getting ready for work this morning.)
But if anyone uses the move not to grow, but to escape, then Keene/FSP can't help. The community that's currently here doesn't need it slash any more of it, and it's a futile and exhausting exercise for that person.
and an x2 to Dale's comment. I never would have had the guts to spill my schemes.

Hmm… I think I would have to agree with that.
Wow - how exciting! What a great intro.
Keene is really starting to attract liberty ladies. Just in the last four months we've had Ali from AL, Cecilia from VA, and Kelly from AZ move here. You would probably enjoy being a part of the newest activist group here, Ladies in Keene ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ladies-In-Keene/176707345754996 ) . They are going to launch a radio show in the new year, as a matter-of-fact.
Moving to NH is a great time to feel comfortable being yourself and come out of a shell. The community of liberty activists is unmatched, and Keene is a hotspot. Keene is a place with friendly people that you will see over and over again.
People have done as you suggest, come to visit and never left. As long as you are able to take care of yourself financially, you'll probably be fine. You'll probably know fairly quickly how you feel about being here. For me, I love being around others who are of like-mind. I'm originally from Florida and have never gone back.
Yeah, it gets cold here, but as a skinny Florida native whose hands and feet get cold easy, I agree with Will - it gets easier after the first winter. I usually only put on thermals if I'm planning to be outside for a while. However, prepare yourself for a serious shock to your system if you are going to plop yourself right into the middle of winter for a visit!!
Please let us know if you have further questions. Looking forward to meeting you.
Welcome…the more the merrier. It's cold but we're free(er)
Looking forward to your visit! I hope you like to dance!
