Hello All,
I've been around a little on the NH Underground Forum and have been keeping an eye on, but not active, here. I will be visiting NH for the first time Oct. 10th through 20th. While all you folks are at your day jobs, I hope to get a sense for the both Keene and Manchester on my own. (Well, not without a laptop and wifi connection, of course.) I'd much prefer to move to Keene, though my only difficulty would be employment. (Completely unique situation, right?) I have a bachelor's degree from san francisco state university in cinema. I did some live TV for AZ-TV in Prescott, Arizona and was an Associate Producer for Intel Studios (yes, that Intel) for a year before I became the UI Designer for a mobile/web entertainment start-up in Palo Alto, CA.
I've been a mainstream libertarian since I was 15 years old. I voted for Ron Paul in 2008. Last month, I attended the Campaign for Liberty conference in Las Vegas and met up with some good ol' childhood friends that had moved all over the place. I realized that I am an anarchist. It seemed like such a small step. My ideology has not changed, but anarchy is such a scary word. (Well, not anymore… maybe it was all the Las Vegas alcohol…) So, not only did I find contradictions in my life philosophy and immediately begin doing the research to reconcile them, I realized that the only thing that has been consistent throughout my entire life has been the pursuit of liberty. I'd like to continue doing that surrounded by like-minded people. I feel so much healthier after an evening with liberty minded folks that I think even the weekly meetings you guys have on Sundays, or that Manchester has on Tuesdays, et al. would significantly raise my standard of living regardless of the rest.
One question from the most recent news out of the area is, how are the native Keensters dealing with all this activity? The town hall meetings are happening all over the country, but as members of the FSP, how is this affecting the group?
Regardless of what is most popular, my subject is more of a reference to "You Shall Know Our Velocity!" than some cheesy 80s song, but it's alright if you didn't get that at first.

P.S. "Cheesy" is not derogatory as far as 80s music is concerned.
Pre-welcome, Antigone. I'm from the Bay Area, too. You're visiting in Oct - when are you moving?

I concur! It's amazing to be around so many like-minded people. There's no shortage of socializing possibilities to accompany whatever level of activism you are comfortable with.
Keene is rapidly becoming, if it isn't already, the liberty media capitol of the world. It may take some innovation but I think there is incredible potential for media types here.
BTW, we also have a weekly event on Tuesdays-- movie night in Winchester. It's a blast!
Welcome to the forums ;D
There are jobs available in Keene. Just depends on how picky you are.
Welcome in advance - Keene is super!
