My name is Johnny, I live in Pembroke, NH. I forget exactly how I found this place, somehow it started with a Free Minds TV video on YouTube. I am interested in the ideas here. I love freedom more than life itself.
Welcome back.
Are you planning on getting a 420 rally going in Derry again this year? I hear from Rich P. that the idea that’s shaping up is to restart them on March 20, and build them up toward a huge rally in Concord on April 20 (with at least 420 people present).
There’s website now, by the way.
Welcome Jonny!

I am not sure if I will be doing it again or not. I am torn between two belief systems.
On one hand I believe these rallies:
[li]could boost public interest on the decriminalization, legalization and medical marijuana reform movements [/li]
[li]by using civil disobedience , could in themselves help promote an environment in which marijuana "crime" is for the most part ignored by authorities despite federal law. [/li]
[li][/li]
on the other hand I feel it might also:
[li]Fuel the negative stigma around the reform issue[/li]
[li]create unwanted, "pushy" public attention[/li]
both of which could severely damper the movements progress.
My intention for the Derry rally was to help aid the reform movements progress here in New Hampshire. I am no longer certain it is the best route to take. Until I see that these rallies are creating positive changes, I will not attend or arrange one.
I do not see anything wrong with the rallies themselves though - only the effects it may have. I feel like those that are attending are doing so because they want real change. I give everyone involved credit for trying to make a difference.
For me though, not knowing if it will help or harm us, do not feel it is worth the possibility of preventing progress.
Fair enough. There’s also quite a bit going on this year legislatively; a bill to legalize, tax, and regulate marijuana was just heard by the State House today, and whereas it didn’t pass, it’s being sent for “interim study” in the hopes of improving it and passing it next time. There’s also a decrim bill again which hasn’t been acted on yet.
