hello guys/girls. my name is hammer given last name :).
hoping you guys can help me out. I'm pry going to be moving to the state in the next 7 months or less
(March if current plans work out right).
trying to work it out so I move up there after this winter. lived in az for most(all but the last year) life so cold is not something i'm used to.
my plans were not move for year or year and half but plans have changed.
anyway trying to get an idea of where I should move.
my socal life is mostly playing board game with people and rpg or playing game on the computer/ coding for work.
because of the board game I was thinking of near manchester( to go to myriad game to play). heard there like a board game group in keene is that right? do you guys smoke there. I don't really like being around that.
I will be taking my job with me there.
long term I going to want to find a job working for a smaller company than I currently work for.
must have good internet.
would like to find a 1/2 room apartment less than 30 mins from a good size city (so I can go out to eat every once and awhile. good raman shop a plus. eat out alot now need to learn to cook.)
not sure yet what I’m going to do liberty wise but I’m going to move there because I believe in what we all are trying to do.
I can pry manage around 700ish for rent with power. would like to not have to deal with roommates. would like less.
sorry for the long post. and the grammar/spelling mistakes I missed dyslexia does that to you.
not looking for real items yet just given general idea so guys can point me the right way.
There are so many gaming geeks in Manch. I'm one of them. Lots of comic & hobby shops.
I'm not really sure what it costs to live alone. I know you can get a roommate situation for about $400-$500/mo here.
dale I did not know you where in manch or were into board games. (I know sex, lies and arcarcy talked about battle star glacita. )
some reason I always think everyone is in keene save for mark who near keene.
I've seen some people in Keene playing some card/board games in Keene.
For it's size and population, Keene has a lot of movers which speaks well for Keene, IMO. Manchester is just a bigger city and it's very centrally-located so it's not surprising that it has the bulk of movers.
dale if you got time could you tell me what it like in manchester?
It's a bigger city than Keene but not as pretty and without that quaint small-town feel (even though Keene is not a town). There are more free-staters for that reason but it's not as cozy in that we don't have something like the KAC where everyone sees everyone on a regular basis. There are a lot of social events though. Cost of living is a little lower. Walking can be very viable if you plan well like make a point to live near where you work but it's not as walkable as Keene, generally. It's centrally-located which is nice, particularly if you have a car. Concord is close, Nashua is close, the Seacoast isn't terribly far. Boston is accessible by a reasonably-priced commuter bus. We have decent theaters, unlike Keene. I feel like there is a lot of potential to have a big impact in Keene because it's smaller that will be more difficult in Manch even with more activists.
That's some stuph off the top of my head. Beyond that, I would need a more specific question.
Hello, welcome, and congrats on your decision to move! I'm from Florida, so I get the concern about cold. The good news is we have heat!
