Welcome aboard, man.

It's a little difficult to get a job right now but with your skills, I would start looking at sentinelsource.com.  Make some calls or emails, send a resume and let them know that you need a deffinate on the job before moving.

As for a safe place for your things, there is no shortage of places, it's just a matter of finding a temp spot until you get up on your feet.

Hello and welcome.  Limiting your work options may restrict your success in finding work in a down economy.  That said, if you are willing to work, you can probably find some.  It would be wise to have some savings prior to a move.  If you have enough savings to take care of yourself for several months, you can move and find work after that.  Many have reported that finding jobs here is easier when you live here.

That said, while you are saving up for a move, it's still worthwhile to start looking for work.  You'll find some useful links here in the jobs/opportunities subforum.

QFT.

This is true of finding jobs anywhere. It's hard to do remotely. It's particularly hard to do if you're not in a very skilled profession. There are plenty of service jobs in Keene but the way to get those is to pound the pavement 40 hours+ a week and fill out stacks of applications several times a week, and then you have to actually see the managers in person. But if you move here without savings to get you by while you're looking, you could find yourself miserable, particularly during the coldest part of the year.

Yes, take Ian and Dale's advise…don't  come here broke. Keene is awesome but there are far more jobs in the Manchester area and just as much activism. Best of luck and hope to meet you here in NH soon!
