Hello from Washington!

Hello, my name is Josh. I suppose you could say that I'm an odd breed.

I believe that:
Information wants to be free.
Access to anything which may teach you something about how the world works should be unlimited and total.
You should always yield to the hands-on imperative.
You should mistrust authority.
You should promote decentralization.
You should feed the noise back into the system.

I listen to LRN, so that's kind of how I found my way here. I am here for the obvious reasons of being "Libertarian" or whatever people who group together call themselves as a description that likes talking about a dead philosopher that tried to rid the world of people grouping together for her idea of a group of individual ideas. (or something like that)

Welcome.  Will you be joining us in the Shire?

I really like the idea of the free state project, and I do plan to move to NH as soon as I am able to do so. #1 place to relocate to in my opinion, I'll just miss the good PNW ale everywhere and fresh authentic asian cuisine. I've always quite fancied the east coast anyways over the land of everyone trying to emulate Microsoft or Nirvana. Even if it doesn't happen by some magical reason of Washington turning into a super-duper liberty-oriented state before I graduate as an Electrical Engineer, I still like and support what you guys are doing over there in NH.

There are a number of micro-breweries around NH.  You may find ale you like.

And there's actually a reasonable Asian population, so you may find cuisine you are looking for.  (IIRC, Maine actually has the highest per-capita number of Asians of any US state, and that has to have some impact on NH…)

My great grandmother actually came to the west side from Maine.

I'm from California. Don't be fooled. The asian cuisine in New Hampshire blows. It's just something you give up by moving here. That being said, the things you gain by moving here far outweigh the loss of quality asian food. Perhaps that's something Free Staters should work on… recruiting quality asian restaurant owners from the left coast to move to New Hampshire for the FSP. Hey, I can dream can't I?

I'm just happy that Keene has multiple places that sell sushi and Chinese food.  Plus we have a Thai place and a Japanese place, and a new Japanese Steakhouse is yet to open!!  8)

I will say the sushi restaurants I've visited in New Hampshire are WAAAYYYY better than the Chinese restaurants.

The Chinese places I have been to in Manch have been nothing to write home about.  We have some good ones here in Keene, though.  Cherry Garden - good Chinese and Sushi.  Marco Polo - another good sit-down.  Also King's Garden is good take-out.

New Hampshire has many things to offer.

Cosmopolitan food culture is not one of those things.
