Hello from Texas

Hello all, I live in Texas.  I have decided to move up there today (made the decision, not the move today).  I figured I'd make a comment that I haven't signed up for the FSP because I just don't want my name on a list, so you all may have more potential movers out there than are on that list.  There is at least me.  I doubt you will see me post to much, but I've been lurking on the website for over a year, so I guess I should at least finally say hello.  ;D

Welcome (a year belatedly mr.lurker lol)! And no worries about not signing up with FSP, I and several others haven't.

You have any timeline on when you plan to move up?

I'm still stuck in Texas, so congratulations for the move.

Hehe. Sublimer hasn't moved yet KBCraig

BTW: where in Texas are you two?

Im in Austin, where are you Craig?

I'm hoping to move in June… I applied for about 8 jobs up there yesterday and I'm in a field that is still pretty strong so I doubt I will have much trouble finding work.  Can't find any jobs in Keene, but I can work from home so I will probably still move around there and work for somebody out of Boston or Manchester.  We will see.

Cool - our second mover from Austin.  Evan is also from there.

Welcome. Hope the trip goes well.

Near Texarkana. Closer than you to NH, but it's still a bitch of a drive (about 1740 miles one way to PorcFest).

hey i'm in Austin too. What made you decide to make the move?

Hello, welcome to the forum!

hey Justo - I took a road trip up through New England and made a few little stops in NH on my way back to check things out.  I didn't bother telling anyone I was there, more just spent some time exploring the area on my own.  I think it's a beautiful part of the country and all the people I met are really friendly.  I decided it would not be a bad place to live while I was there.  I also have 2 really great friends in Boston that I wouldn't mind spending more time with.  Plus Boston is a blast to go party in.

Now, being in Austin, I could just start naming all the horrible things going on here that such a small group of people seem to care about.  I want to be near a group of these people.  The Libertarians around here are great, there just aren't enough of them.  "No refusal weekends" by our police chief scare me.  I don't want cops forcefully taking my blood from me just because they want to.

I'm curious, do you live in S Austin or N Austin?

Hello.  I am also in Texas, but in the panhandle.  Are you headed up to Porcfest?
