It sounds like the situation was handled well enough by level-headed people.
Most of the time smartphones are useful tools, but occasionally, they can steer you wrong. I don’t believe that this can make a person dumb or smart… Nowadays, we just have a different way of spreading information.
I felt dumber just reading about it.
I know I rely on Waze so much that sometimes I will make obviously stupid turns. I don’t know if it’s dumb as much as it is just not being aware of surroundings. Driving into a fire though? I think the person was probably dumb with no help from Waze.
