Gun loving gay agorist progressive-libertarian-constitutionalist-anarchist

the title about says it all — Looking to leave commie california – things'r STILL crashing big time in LA.  Yikes.  Anyone like me out there?

We need more homos!

Ha. thank you for saying so – but Im not so sure about that.  They kind of annoy me –  ;D – well the ones that're affected and travel in packs do anyways.  I'm not the type to wave a rainbow flag.  I defend our/their rights but I also don't need to hang out in some gay ghetto in order to be accepted.  Quite the contrary.  Anyways, It's complex.

Hey Marc, You made it!

Hey all, this is a friend of mine here in Los Angeles. I'm glad to see he's made his way to this forum.

Thanks for the kudos Kris.  And thanks for helping me find this forum.  Normally not into announcing my sexuality or being so "in your face" about it – just to trying gauge the general Keene response to Gays.

I think you'll find our community very accepting.  Though Dale and Rocco would be able to really tell you what it's like.  Plus Keene is the most liberal of all NH cities.

I expect you'll find more controversy around the other labels you presented.

Buzz is putting on a Big Gay Dance Party at PorcFest.  Hopefully, us straight folks will be able to attend, too

Joe

Quite a list of labels you got there

And as with what the others have said, I've noticed an accepting attitude, though one obviously can't speak for all. Either way, I could care less about your sexuality and am happy to see a fellow gun-loving agorist libertarian anarchist wanting to move out here!

Finally, though it should have been first, welcome to the forums! And kudos to Kristopher for showing you the way!

Welcome.

I fit that description except I'm a straight woman.
I think you will find quite a few people that fit your description except most of them aren't gay.
I think you will find that most of the non heteros are not the type of in your face over the top people that I went to art school with in NYC.

If haven't already planned on coming to our 7th Annual Porcupine Freedom Festival next month you should.

Kristopher needs to come too.

You will get the opportunity to meet the largest group of see the real need for less government.  Of course everyone has a different opinion on how much less government.  You can get a feel for the place and figure out if you want to up and move across the country.  We have quite a few people that have escaped from CA living here.  They have even gotten used to having winter.  If you have the time tour the state, look for work, and start making plans to move.  We have had quite a few people make the final decision to move after attending a Porc Fest.

I will let you know in terms of dating the only people who have a large pool to choose from are women who date men.

what art school did you go to in NYC? I went to FIT for a while - never finished though. Did all my art class together, then when the time for the Academia stuff, I wasn't in the mood any more.

As for this years porcfest - I am still going to be here in LA getting ready to drive back cross country to NYC. Next year for sure, and the other one too, the event that takes place in (I Think) May? Blanking on the name right now.

Liberty Forum happens in May I think. And in 2009, Free Keene Fest happened in May.

Keene folk seem pretty friendly toward The Gays.

FIT too.

I did the academic stuff first and went to FIT from 91 to 93.  I majored in jewelry design.  Lived in Jersey city while my family was in Fort Green Brooklyn.

Burning porcupine is in the middle of July.
The Jaffery Live Free or Die festival is in August.
The Keene Pumpkin Festival is In October.
Liberty Forum in March.
Bardo Fest is in May and June brings us back to Porc Fest.

That doesn't count the parties, protests and other events that happen up here.

I fit your desciption quite well (except for the anarchist part…i know, I'm a sell-out  )

Keene is a very accepting place.  I tend to be rather 'out' (I Chair the New Hampshire Bears, the largest Gay men's Group in NH) and sit on the Board of the Twin States Network (an HIV servcie agency), and used to own a bar that had a once-monthly "Bear Night" that was attended by about 80 guys each month…I have never had a problem or felt 'afraid' to be who I am in Keene or anywhere in the Monadnock Region.

Welcome!!!
