Greetings

I failed to introduce myself and I've been a member/mod for a while now so here it is:

James B Schlessinger Jr.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI.  I've had a good life.  I have been fortunate to have a loving and incredibly supportive family and to be born in this country.  At the age of 17 I did two things that would forever alter my life.  I joined the Army National Guard and I started playing music in a garage band.  Two diametric states of mind, two very different worlds.  After military basic and job training I went to college and started my first real band.  All metal all the time, good times.  I dropped out of college and played the role of a staving artist for a while, wandering around the state of WI.  Then the band split up and I returned home to Milwaukee and joined a small Business start-up building and selling quality PCs.  The business failed three years later and while I came away empty-handed in a monetary sense, I learned a great many valuable lessons.

I then started up my second band and had some fun with that while working as a machine repair technician.  All was simple and nondescript until the 2008 election when I finally awoke from my slumber.  I discovered Ron Paul and libertarian philosophy.  I became a Ron Paul supporter and even a Meet-up organizer it was also at this time that I discovered the Free State Project.  Within a space of 6 weeks I had found out about the project and moved with the intention of helping Ron Paul in the New Hampshire primary.

After the sound defeat in the live free or die state I knew Dr. Paul was not going to be president.  Even if he was elected I came to the realization that he couldn't slay the dragon and bring about the fairytale world we wished we lived in.  What I had learned was that people were waking up to reality and that grassroots movements had great potential.  So I remain here in Keene, for now, trying to help create a grassroots movement.

I may post more at a later date and I may not.  Such is my nature

And we formally welcome you despite your procrastination. :stuck_out_tongue:
