Hello to the inhabitants of the Shire Society Forum. I'm a digital media and editing peep living in the D.C. beltway area and working for a libertarian non-profit. I'm very interested in the possibility of moving to NH as part of the Free State Project. I met Carla Gericke this June down in D.C and that was a very positive experience as well.
Why am I here? I'm hoping to gain more knowledge about the geography/lifestyle vibe of different regions of NH, as well as rental information and general information helpful to those seeking to relocate. I telecommute so I'm free to live where I want.
I found the forum via a link on the new Free State Project website.
Ideally, I'd like to eventually wind up in a small log cabin, but not too rural because I need at least 20MBps up + down for internet work I do! (Actually, I'd love to get 100Mbps up + down.) I'm flexible though and interested in various living options.
I'm also very interested in sustainable living options and generally, all forms of self-reliance.
Welcome. Time Warner has wideband in Keene, Speeds up to 50mbps down, but only 5 up. I think you can get symmetrical fiber from them if you are willing to pay through the nose. I don't know about other areas, but I suspect you can get better deals in Manch and the Seacoast.
