here in utah they lowered the DUI limit to .05 .
this is to collect more revenue. you can decline the the tests, but are therefore automatically guilty (you agreed to this when you accepted the govt drivers license).
you can (and should) request the blood test at the local hospital/er/clinic.
reason: why should you allow someone with a vested monetary interest in showing you are are a criminal do the test? the hospital is at least a (more or less) disinterested 3rd party.
in Utah they are required to tow your vehicle, regardless of where you park; in your driveway/garage you will still be towed.
this is because they (the govt ) actually owns your car. once you turn in your MSO (manufacturers statement of origin) to motor vehicles, you have signed over ownership of your vehicle to the state. this is why they can seize your vehicle and have it towed for pretty much any reason, as delegated by law.
currently the law forbids searches without reasonable cause, but this is subject to change.
best idea is to not drink.
2nd best is to use taxi/uber services to get to/from the event you might get drunk at.
