Currently living in the Dallas area with no plan to move to NH at present (but that doesn't mean it will never happen). Been visiting the FTL chat for a few days and am hoping to find more discussion of substance here. no "expectation" with the chat, just didn't know what the general subject matter consisted of until after visiting it a few times. People having fun and all is great but I do have a genuine interest in getting to know other like minded invididuals who have an interest in serious discussion from time to time. Anyway… thats what brought me to the forum… to hopefully establish some of those relationships.
About me:
32 y/o male
Spent 10 years on active duty in the Marine Corps (began developing my current understanding of reality during the end of my time in the military which greatly influenced my desire to leave the empires' gang of murderers and robbers).
Started off as a typical run of the mill brainwashed American, public educated, military dupe…
Became very interested in consitutionalism and early American history.
Stumbled upon the Anti-federalist papers and the "anti" federalist objections in general which crippled my previously held support of consitutionalism.
More study led to more awareness of previously unconsidered ideas, with the tenets of Objectivism really opening the door to some thoughts that invoked great contention with previously held pressupositions.
In a nutshell - I firmly believe that I now have a proper understanding of the nature of my own existence and a fully principled and consistent world-vew.
I cannot, in good conscience, sanction any form of anti-liberty no matter how minimal one might suggest it can be. If liberty is impeded in any way, it ceases to be liberty. I support the ideas of Agorism as stated by Konkin, and strive to do my part to liberate myself as I know this to be no ones responsibility but my own.
This is all very basic and simplistic in terms of an intro… However, I'd love to discuss more as the appropriate discussion may permit opportunity. I greatly enjoy debate and usually jump in feet first if a topic of interest is active and I feel I have someting worthy of contributing.
–Cheers
Welcome - sorry to hear you aren't coming sooner rather than later!
Glad to see you here, FormerlyBrainwashed. I live in Texas, too.
Yea… Liberty does not seem to important to people around here. I am in the panhandle area. There are a few groups around here that I used to hang around with when Ron Paul was running for president, but mostly they seemed only to be interested in trying to pool together money to promote LP candidates after the Ron Pail campaign. Nice people, but swarthy and inconsequential. I plan on making my stand in NH a year from now.
Headed to Porcfest? I think we are going to fly out from D-Love.
