Hi everyone! We are a family of four from Western Mass that has been searching for our home in the free state for about a year now. We are beyond anxious to get there and start a new chapter in our life. We found the Free State Project kind of by accident and are thrilled to be a part of it ( found the Shire Forum through facebook I believe). We always have had beliefs that match perfectly with the movement but just recently started to realize that they are others like us!! Which is really a good feeling. We are currently looking for land while we try to sell our current home. We are interested in getting back to the land and homesteading one day. We are tired of just wishing life was different and are ready to do something about it. We are looking to meet new people and keep up with what is happening in the Shire before we get there.

Welcome! New Hampshire is definitely very family-friendly. Purchasing land here can be a big task, so you’ll want to make sure you’re familiar with things like percolation tests, zoning, etc. There are many large parcels of land in the state with existing houses, and it might be worth it to consider some of those, too.
