Hello Everyone,
My name is Tom Davis and I am casting for a one-hour documentary that will air on MTV. The show is about people who have a strong feeling that the US government is going in the wrong direction.
The show will feature the points-of-view of three young like-minded people who express doubt about the direction the government is going. There will be no narration.
Casting Call:
Age Range: Teens though early 30's. Male and Female applicants welcome.
Are you one of a growing number of Americans that feels the government is not just on the wrong track but completely out of control and out too control most aspects of our lives? Do you feel threatened or angry at big government bailouts, healthcare reform, a sinking economy, and illegal immigration? Do you firmly believe that the government is actively working to replace the power of the people?
For this episode we are looking for young individuals who are actively taking measures to challenge this direction. Whether that be taking action by forming a new political party (such as the Tea Party), joining the Patriot Movement or looking to create their own unique society.
We want to hear from you. Please send us a description of your views and a sense of what your daily life involves and how you are taking action for change. We require a photo and location as part of the casting call. Serious individuals only please.
Ideally, we would like to follow a prospective participant through making the move to Keene and / or someone who is ingrained in the movement and working towards getting the word out to the masses.
Please write 'Free Keene' and "YOUR NAME" in the email subject line and send correspondence to: casting@lintonmedia.com
Serious inquires only please.
Hello Tom, what age range are you looking for?
What is the deadline to apply?
How did you find us?
Thanks for the invitation!
Andrew Carroll immediately comes to mind. You could even get footage of his marijuana protest.
Why not Ian and this Free Keene project? The Couch would make a wonderful story.
Edit: Nevermind, an issue with the federal government looks like the focus.
Now I haven't owned a television in quite a while, but the last time I checked, "documentary" and "MTV" didn't really fit very well together. Given the sorts of absurd things we've seen even from so-called "news" organizations, I'd be quite wary of this.
If MTV would go back to playing music videos 24x7, then I'd buy a telev…oh, wait, music has gone to hell, forget that.
Since the lame stream media is still stuck in the left/right paradigm, MTV would not do a just job in portraying a Free State Project or Free Keene activist in the positive light he/she deserves.
There are two ways I think that MTV would skew what is happening in NH. First, the activist would be portrayed as someone on the FAR right and conservative, rather then a Libertarian (or libertarian minded). And the concepts of TRUE LIBERTY would never be aired. And second, since many activists in NH consider themselves to be voluntaryist and/or anarchist, it would be extremely easy for the lame stream media to portray anarchy as chaos, and anarchists' as a whole as crazy :duh:.
I'm just thinking out loud, and if someone feels that this would be a good opportunity to get his/her message out, then go for it!

PS
I consider myself a voluntaryist who would gladly opt out of government. Which, makes me an anarchist ^-^.
I haven't watched tv in quite a while … But i think it sounds like a fabulous idea .
Somehow I think MTV would be fair
MTV? HAHAHAHAHA LMAO.Please Tom,tell me what part of the MTV audience would watch a documentary that has to do with the government and or freedom?Wait i'll tell you,NONE. And if by chance any of the MTV audience would watch it,what they just watched wouldnt sink in and would be forgotten in the space of less than 5 minutes.MTV watchers = brain dead, brain washed and, basically brainless.Thats who watches MTV. Is MTV where you learned how to punctuate your writing?

Is being an asshole how you gain friends?
@Givemeliberty,
Seems like MTV would reach MANY MANY people for the FSP.
What help are your derisive comments?

No, I do that by calling people names.
I think MTV would do the FSP justice.
They are into young people being tuned into the world and being politically active.
I think MTV would be perfect for the FSP ; a good match.
David take a look at the news that MTV puts out. http://www.mtv.com/news/ .Now tell me the people wasting their time watching the above garbage will actually watch a documentary on politics, world affairs, freedom. They wont, theyll be changing the channel
I have always advocated for a "real world" style FSP reality show. I would watch it.
@givemeliberty
If one person gets reached then it is worth it. One person can change the world.
Gandi,MLK,julian assange,bradley manning,Varrin Swearingen…etc etc .
MTV reaches A LOT of people
Peace

The only problem with the so called reality shows is once cameras are introduced its no longer reality.Take survivor lmao.If people want to be contestants in survivor.Drop them into the middle of the great north woods with just their cloths and a knife.Whoever walks out first wins.Dont forget the hat cam.

That may be true but,I believe the general mtv audience that thrive on the mtv scene (the link i put up)would be in denial as to whats going on in the real world. You would probably reach a few people. The next question would be,would those people care enough to want to do something about it.
If MTV wants to throw money down the money hole, who cares. And if a narcissistic freestater can possibly be found, and that's like, totally a hypothetical, well, shine on, sunchilds. Market forces, on and on.
Both pulling the "just one person would be worth it" heartstring and the "omg liburalz watch mtv" slogan are sorta naive since it presumes that the spin of the show would be neutral or positive. Why would it be either?
