Can't wait to get to Keene!

Hello. My name is Brian Markowski, just turned 30 and am looking to move to Keene around October/November 2011.  I was just up there a couple of weeks ago checking it out (driving from Central New York isn't too bad) and loved what I saw. I'm posting on this board hoping to find rooms or apartments available, and maybe even a job. I am presently a technician at Par Technology and have been for 6 years, but I really don't mind working at a Wendy's or something at first for a while, nor do I mind sleeping in my Ford Expedition (I have an independent heating system rigged in it, just in case), I just really want to be there and get the hell out of New York! Thank you, and glad to be on this forum!

Oh, and as the name implies, I am Jewish, but it's an ethnic thing, I don't really practice Judaism in any of its forms (I regularly work on Saturday, hehe).

hi.  jobs are easier to get when you're here, people tend to post craigslist links for jobs or their own apartments that need a new roommate.  I'd recommend not getting on anyone's official lease until you've made the rounds of getting a feel for the place and other people.

Yeah, I'll be there the beginning of November, and I have plenty of money to get by until I find stable things (job, place to live, etc.), so yeah, I totally agree on it being easier "from there." Just can't wait to be there.  :Z

Hey Brian and welcome.

The FSP has a jobs guide which you may find very helpful. http://freestateproject.org/jobs
Here are some other helpful tips which may make your life in NH easier and more pleasant. http://forum.freekeene.com/index.php?topic=4934.0

Awesome.  Thanks for the guides.

There are also housing and jobs subforums here, if you hadn't seen them yet.

I've found that it's not too hard to find a job here, as long as you have a respectable work history. Unemployment is pretty low.

Hi, welcome ;D

Welcome - see you soon!
