Canadian trying to make a difference

My name is Meggs, I'm a new libertarian. I'm from Ontario and I recently paid a visit to New Hampshire last two weeks of October.  I met some really awesome people who opened my eyes even more to my Rights.  I got to visit Concord, Manchester and Keene and got to socialize and support a few 4:20 gatherings.  I have registered with the Free State Project and would love to move to New Hampshire but as a Canadian I'm limited to being able to do that.

Ontario has a Libertarian Party of Canada group in which I will be supporting here.  I can keep people posted about what's going on this side of the boarder.  We haven't gathered quite like New Hampshire is at the moment. I plan to return to New Hampshire for PorcFest 2010.

I want to be able to help inspire other Canadians and other Americans to move and spread the word about New Hampshire's Free State Project, so if anyone has anything I can do to help until I can legally move to New Hampshire please let me know.

Welcome

Hello Meggs. What are the legal restrictions you face in trying to immigrate?

Are you interested in civil disobedience  ?

Welcome to the forum, I think we met you at this Social Sunday event.  Other than marriage what are the other 'legal' ways to stay in New Hampshire?

Welcome – love the flag!!!

What part of Ontario?  My sister lives in Ottawa, and I visit there often.

If you have a university degree and/or experience in certain fields (e.g. computer stuff) you might qualify for  free trade (NAFTA) visa, which lets you live and work here.  Two of my coworkers came down that way.

I'm from Greater Toronto Area, North of Toronto.  Other ways I could legally live in New Hampshire is if I'm accepted by a school.  Even if I am, I am only allowed there as long as I'm in school.  After school I'd have to be hired by a company in the US to stay in the US or go back to Canada.

I don't have any degrees that would have me qualify for a free trade visa.  I have 2 years of hospitality experience in college plus maybe 4 or 5 years of hospitality work and a little farm experience, not sure any companies out there wanted to hire me for any of that.

Yes, I was at the Social Sunday event last Sunday passed at Fritz.  Thank you for your welcomes.

couldn't you knock up some American and/or get a 'legal' marriage, or vice versa?

Welcome! ;D

I'm female, for one, so I guess an American would have to get me knocked up.  I've concidered the "legal" marriage (without the pregnant part).  It'd be my last option if I couldn't do anything else. And to convince an American that I have met while I was in New Hampshire would be a challenge.

Welcome!  :) My wife's Canadian, by the way.

If all that's needed is business support, couldn't a liberty-minded owner sponsor meg, perhaps hiring her at least part time, or temporarily?

(couldn't tell from the forum name, my mistake)

I imagine by the time your other options ran out, there'd be such an option readily available.  This place IS a sausage fest, so it's not like you'll have to go dumpster-diving to find a man, regardless of your immigration status.
