I’ve just learned about an interesting app. I haven’t used it yet but it seems like a great fit for our community.
Briar is end-to-end encrypted peer-to-peer messaging. It sends over bluetooth, wifi, and if it needs to go over internet it uses Tor.
unfortunately Firechat is buggy. It does not work on my model, is it open? is it still being developed?
I’ve tested this app now, Briar. It works but is a resource hog, I think by nature of its design (like a few other p2p products, it uses a chain and needs to always be running in the background).
