Beau here! :D

Hey everyone!

My name is Beau and I hail from Southwest Florida.  I found out about this movement last year around the time of your cannabis in the park get-together.(awesome work on this btw!)

I'm a filmmaker, graduated from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, with a lot of experience and a drive for liberty and activism.

My younger brother and I have been contemplating making the move up there.  As we've watched the videos of the activists in your area, we've grown more and more interested in this idea, since there seems to be a cloud of apathy hanging over just about every home and business in my local sleepy towns.  Plus you have hills for longboarding, which if we're looking for a little incline, we've got to sneak into a parking garage just to get some good slides in. :stuck_out_tongue:

So, the only thing stopping me at this point is finding work up there.  Since I chose to attend a stupid-expensive school, I'll be paying it for quite some time.  If anyone's aware of some sort video shooting/editing/animation/sound fx/music composition/writing/illustration or anything else artisitic that's paying in your area, I'd really appreciate the help as I want very badly to become a part of community of free thinkers/expressers.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all! :slight_smile:

Beau

I don't know of any, but there is Cheshire TV and a couple of production companies in the area.

I'd be great to a have a new video person up here.  Welcome.

I have not tried asking these places if they are hiring, but there is http://www.capturedlightstudio.com/index.html

And of course, the world famous, http://www.florentinefilms.com/

Awesome, I'll check these out.  Thanks! :smiley:

I'm finishing up a draft demo reel right now.  I'll post it here in just a few. :slight_smile:

Here's a link to my new reel(draft):

Hey Beau, great reel!

I'm a fellow videographer/editor, skater, Ai (New England) Alumnus, etc… also thinking about taking the big Free-State plunge, so it's great to hear others like myself are doing the same.  Longboarding in FL must suck (the flattest state, with its highest point at about 300ft or so I believe).  Maybe we can skate, and/or work together on some projects when we're out there!
