Another liberty forum

Haven't done the forum thing in a couple years. Usually just stick to IRC, MSN, facebook/myspace, and blogs. But Free Keene has enticed me enough to join. Just another typical anarchist that can't stand submission to government anymore. Been involved in politics since I was six with a slow evolution to the point I'm at now. Tend to do a lot of reading, but seems I always find more and am far behind where I should be. Feel free to poke me with questions.

Welcome to the forum.
Do you happen to be in the Keene area?

Chris

No I'm a lil south and far to the west coast(Washington State). I have been reading up on the Keene area in the last week though. It's nice to have an area populated by more anarchists with a tradition of civil disobedience. Beats my single-man protests.

Are you a member of the Free State Project?

I didn't sign up when I considered myself a libertarian because of my age at the time. I don't wish to sign up now that I'm an anarchist because they advocate working within the system, which I oppose.

You might reconsider joining the FSP: "they" don't advocate working within or without the system. The statement of intent is:
I hereby state my solemn intent to move to the state of New Hampshire. Once there, I will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of civil government is the protection of life, liberty, and property.
This doesn't obligate you to do anything really, if you deem that doing nothing is your fullest practical effort toward liberty. The goal of the FSP is to bring liberty-lovers to NH. What you do here is up to you.

It goes without saying, though, that should you decide to not sign the FSP, you'd still be welcomed as a liberty-lover. Are you planning to move here?

Thinking about it, but I don't have anything(job, housing, money) to support me if I were to do it. I can't find a job where I'm at after several months. Though if the worst happens I can always hitchhike some more, but I would like to contribute to the movement if I could. As much fun as hitchhiking is, it does get a bit lonely after awhile.

EDIT:

They do mention in their 101 reasons about working within the system with bold and underlines applied. And I wouldn't recognize the maximum role of government as protection of life, liberty, and property. They violate those three things by their very establishment. Not to mention that small governments only grow. The American Experiment has failed miserably. It is time to move beyond minarchism and onto anarchism.

What type of work are you looking for?

Well, I'm not big into manual labor, though I have done my fair share when in a pinch. I'm also not willing to assist government in any way, even at my detriment.

Besides those things, I'd probably have to say anything available though :). I've got experience working in a cafeteria for 2 years(cleaning dishes, floors, and counters, answering phones, stocking food, restocking food from those who did it wrong, and cooking, preparing, and serving food), and in a dorm as a desk worker(answering phones and paging people), and an office manager RA(answering phones, maintaining dorm when dean was away, filing paperwork and organizing computer records, checking rooms for cleanliness, checking people into rooms, overseeing punishments etc.). It's not a deal breaker, but I would prefer to avoid large corporations if possible. I'm also willing to be trained where needed.

Welcome!  I think you'll fit in well here in Keene.  There are plenty of jobs.  Move with enough money to rent a place and support yourself for a little while, and you'll be fine.

Are you on Facebook?

Yes Dale and I've already added you. I've been reading your blog for a few months now.

Ian, that would be my plan if I had a job currently to save up that money.

Living with parents?  If so, no better time to save up.  Why aren't you working?

"Thinking about it, but I don't have anything(job, housing, money) to support me if I were to do it. I can't find a job where I'm at after several months."

Yeah, living with my mom. Been looking for a job since I got back home in May. But having no car, I'm limited to what's in walking distance. Being in a smaller town that cuts it down to about 10 places. I've really grown discouraged about this.

I can't come to the liberty forum unless I get enough money and transpiration please don't think that I am  asking for money. :'(

Thank you for the suggestions NH. They are very appreciated. I used to mow grass for extra cash my junior year in high school. Regarding implementation of your idea, I've talked to my apartment complex owners about it, but they are satisfied with their current labor(if I was anti-immigration I suppose I'd complain about that lol). And the only grassy places nearby are two gated housing communities and a gated apartment community.

Last night I did start buying tobacco(not taxed as high as cigarettes themselves) and rolling cigarettes to undercut convenience stores. We will see how this gets off the ground. When it comes to selling a product to a group of people I have experience. Ran an illegal dorm store for a couple years and was able to buy out anyone new eventually.

aharvey, there is no need for such comments. I didn't bring it up to ask for money or anything. I am merely answering the questions. Everyone else has been helpful with their posts.
