Peace Ticket

So, I was thinking about how I wanted to respond to the COMPLAINT they forced on me when they pulled me over for my private plate yesterday.

I came up with the "Peace Ticket".  Any suggested changes?  What do you think?
 

EDIT:  A Peace Ticket for outside NH, with a reference to the US Declaration of Independence instead of the NH Bill of Rights has also been attached.

Instead of just 'member', you should put 'voluntary member'.  Because the police have always told me I'm a member of society and, therefore, I should follow society's rules.  When did I become a member?  And how do I get out of it?

I like it. The only minor complaint I have is the .doc you attached wraps the ShireSociety.com address onto a second page in Open Office 3.2. It could of course be that I don't have the font you used installed and OOO is using its default, which happens to be larger.

I think since it is a society, associate might be a better term than member.

i would replace the word 'demise' with something a little less... mortal, if that makes any sense.  demise conjures up thoughts surrounding death and pain, where as something less 'human' in nature, say "peaceful end to" or "corrosion", won't sound so threatening.

other than that i think it's great!  although, i feel the officers will give it about as much respect as if you sent them a letter that said, "do you like me?  yes  no  <--circle one"

Good suggestion.  I don't think that there's anything disrespectful about it - it's far more peaceful than their tickets are.

For aesthetic reasons--not to mention that it would make the reading flow more smoothly--I'd move "It" from the third line down to the fourth.

It's basically a dressed-up version of "I don't consent", but I hope it is effective in preventing aggression against you. 

Your statement that "society requires consent" is a little vague; their presumed version of consent, that is, consent of the majority or something along those lines, could still be construed to fit. Perhaps "society requires the consent of each of its members" is what you meant, which is something statists would probably disagree with. I think it can only help to clarify what you mean in this instance, though, so your statement isn't misunderstood.

I like it! Perhaps in addition to listing a spot for the complaint #, you could also include a place for the person issuing the peace ticket to describe the aggressive acts that were done to him/her.  I think it helps to make the aggression explicit, since one purpose of the peace ticket is so that the public will read it and find it thought-provoking, right?

If you're sending a ticket, shouldn't there be an arbitrary demand for cash attached to it?

Not likely, but it will give them a heads up to what they are getting into.  Perhaps it will become effective if dozens, then hundreds of people start using them...
