Eric's Introduction

An Introduction:

My name is Eric Fogelberg. I am a market anarchist who believes that all human beings should be free from violence, coercion and the monopoly on force that the State has, and that all interactions should be consensual and voluntary.
I’m here because I’m hoping to move to New Hampshire from Florida in an effort to find more Freedom in my life and to work towards furthering Human Freedom in general through activism and hard work with others who share the values of principled voluntarist libertarianism. I found out about this forum through my interest in the Free State Project and was referred here through listening to Ian and Darryl on Free Talk Live. Unfortunately, I’ve ended up disabled after suffering a series of severe back injuries since initially injuring my back while serving in the USMC in 1991. However, I’ve made enormous strides in the last year and a half since going outside of the VA system to find cutting edge treatments for my back injuries and plan on continuing to do so, and continuing to heal and recover. My decision to join the military was ultimately a huge mistake which I made under some duress. I already identified as an anarchist, and totally compromised myself by joining, but I needed to escape an abusive and alcoholic home environment. After being Honorably Discharged in 1992, I embarked on some serious soul searching and having experienced the evil of the State firsthand, I became absolutely more anti war than I’d ever been, as well as anti crony capitalism-socialism. I’ve managed to largely avoiding taxation in employment as I wanted to avoid feeding the Warfare-Welfare State, while also limiting my compliance with the State as much possible. I’ve been seriously considering relocating to NH for about a year now, and I’m going to make a maximum effort to do so asap.
By trade and education, I am a professional audio recording engineer. I attended Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts in 95-96 and worked as a professional in Austin TX and NYC between 95 and 2004. I’ve worked in a variety of audio video, technology fields and building trades since 2005 and I’ve also begun to focus on my own music under the name LIFE LIKE FIRE. Some of my music is available to listen to and download on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.
I’m hoping to release a full album of music this year and I’m thinking of doing a libertarian anarchist podcast and some blogging as well. I’m hoping to learn more about the libertarian community in New Hampshire and am thinking of coming up for a visit this year after which I may indeed move up. Thank u all for yr time and I look forward to engaging with others and learning as much as I can via this forum

Peace!

Cool, another libertarian a/v guy - welcome. What’s your timeframe for getting up this way?

It’s great to hear you are planning to move! If you are as excited about liberty as I was and am this is going to be one of the best decisions of your life. New Hampshire’s a great place for those who are pro-freedom. While freedom is dying everywhere we’re making progress at drawing a crowd here that we’ll be able to-no are making a difference.

If you have the time and can plan quickly you may be able to come up during New Hampshire Liberty Forum. It’s a great event run by the Free State Project. It’s happening on the 3rd and 4th mainly, but the event starts the evening of the 2nd. If you can make that you’ll get to meet a lot of interesting people already here. But regardless of when you make a trip make sure to include Keene on your list of places to check out and let us know your coming. We’ll come out and greet you, and maybe even show you around, if you like.

Fuck yeah, that music is cool mean. Just listened to “THe simplest desire”. You on Youtube?

Hi Eric, welcome! I also joined the USMC as a means of escape. Some call it the poverty draft; I’ve called it economic conscription. Too few opportunities for growth and development because of state intervention and monetary monopoly leads people to the military. They offer enticing benefits for a simple job, you don’t have to do anything but mortgage a chunk of your life. I hope to move to NH this year as well. Good luck, and perhaps we’ll cross paths.
