I'd say buy the house and then join Ian in a property tax revolt.
Quote I'd say buy the house and then join Ian in a property tax revolt. That's like saying: Agree to something, voluntarily sign a contract saying you agree to it, and then completely go back on your word.

As anyone who's ever bought a house in NH could tell you.Joe
How much would one expect to pay in rent for a place like that? Is it in a rentable neighborhood? I'd consider buying it and just renting it out to freekeeners who were respectable and would pay the mortgage/taxes in rent.I'd also consider buying it if people would agree to build a giant deck to the far reaches of the property that was full of "code violations."James
Hmm, too bad. That's still an insane price on a house..had no idea real estate was so cheap there. My house is now on the market it NJ and it makes me blush to see how ridiculously inflated both home prices and property taxes are there.
