More Polished Video Later (mistake)

I heard an ad during FTL live on LRN where Ian says "More polished video to come later" or something like that. I would suggest that putting just something up to get it out faster and then another video later is not the best approach. I think you should just go ahead and polish up the video before posting it. You're splitting your views between the two videos. People who saw the first may or may not actually have the attention span to watch the new video. Total number of views matters as far as getting a good buzz going and raising the search rating of a video.

Just a thought. What do others think? I'm not claiming to be an expert on YouTube.

Depends.  In this case, Repsher cranked out a one-cam video in that weekend and the next vid was several days later.  By the time the other, better video from Beau came out, Repsher's vid had thousands of hits.  Had I waited, the story would not have been as fresh.  So, quickness is a factor.  Had Beau been faster, it would have been his video that got the views.
